The University of Kansas School of Business offers a program that will help shape students into professionals who can handle the operational, financial, or managerial aspects of any business.

The program is based on the Lawrence, Kansas campus, designed for MBAs coming in without a background in business. The program is relatively short — just 16 months, for a total of 48 credit hours. MBAs will study foundational business courses, a consulting experience, and electives.

Along the way, Kansas MBAs will take classes alongside their cohort while receiving individual attention and guidance. The program is structured into three semesters, with an included summer internship to put their knowledge to the test and solidify all they have learned in the classroom.

One of the staples of the program is the capstone, where KU MBAs will advise small business owners and managers. Like the internship, this gives MBAs the chance to apply all they have learned to real world situations.

Post graduate results are compelling, with 95% of the KU MBAs employed within three months of graduation.

“Students don’t need a business background to succeed in the MBA program. The teachers, faculty and staff know that we come from all different backgrounds, whether it’s pharmacy, engineering, military. Many of us don’t know much about business and are just dipping our feet into it. KU, the School of Business and the MBA program help students get their feet in the water and get you going so you can find what you need to know about business and how to find success in it,” says MBA Parker Beal on KU’s website.
