Mendoza’s Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) students learn how to become a fundamental conduit between the data teams and decision-makers in business management. The MSBA is a STEM-designated degree program designed for new graduates and professionals with less than two years of work experience. The MSBA curriculum provides a set of courses around tools and technologies and a set of courses around business analytics applications and skills. Additional coursework and immersions focus on the context of how analytics is used in business organizations. Learn data mining, data storage and manipulation, data visualization, statistics, modeling, optimization, and simulation in a variety of business areas such as finance, operations, and marketing.
Guided by a foundation in ethical decision making, students employ the latest in data visualization technology to demonstrate how to improve production cycles and prescribe strategic solutions based on historical data and predictive analytics.
During Mendoza’s experiential learning Grow Irish Immersion week, students harness their analytical prowess in a multi-day data hackathon with a real client. Culminating in pitch-style presentations, this experience sharpens students’ communication skills and their ability to convey insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Notre Dame’s MSBA is a one-year program designed for recent graduates who want to jump start their career in Big Data. This 31-credit hour program provides a master’s level understanding of business analytics and positions students to use data to inform complex business decisions.
A collaborative learning environment includes case study group work, which enables students to leverage varying skill sets as they learn how data insights can be applied in real business situations. During the Spring semester, students participate in a hands-on capstone project where teams partner with a corporate sponsor on a real-world analytics project.
