Most memorable moment as a professor: Receiving the teaching award last year
“If I weren’t a b-school professor…” I’d be a dairy farmer somewhere in the Alps
In 2013—in the annual selection of the best example of teaching excellence—MBA students at the Stanford Graduate School of Busiess chose Anne Beyer for her dedication to students and the curriculum. The 36-year-old rising star professor teaches an intro financial accounting course and describes teaching as “incredibly rewarding and great fun.”
Legend has it that on the last day of class, she received an extended, desk-banging round of applause from students; a testament to her being chosen for Stanford’s Distinguished Teaching Award. Professor Beyer is the fourth woman in Stanford GSB’s history to win the annual teaching prize. One month prior, she was awarded tenure.
