A Deeper Resume Crawl With Some Off-The-Grid Questions

Questions:

–Tell me about the class you attended?

–Have you ever been exposed to the case method?

–Given your background and experiences, what could you add to a case method discussion?

–Is that all? What kinds of business decisions have you witnessed, what roles did you play?

–How could that contribute to your classmates understanding a case?

–Why did you go to X college?

–What was unexpected once you got there?

–What was your favorite class?

–What would you do differently if you had college to do over again.

–What advice would you offer the president of your college about how to make the experience better?

–Tell me about your job as if you were explaining it to a smart high school class?

–Tell me a business story you are following in  the news?

–What has been a decision you have made recently?

–Why did you decide that?

–Tell me about a decision you made in your job involving data?

–Tell me about what you thought of your last review?

–Did you push back on the recommendations?

–Pretend the recent X deal you talk about in your essay were a case discussion and the professor asked you to outline the key issues for discussion, what would you say?

–What are some of the important trends in your industry?

–Tell me your roadmap for your career after your MBA?

Interview Report Three:

More Oddball Questions Than Usual 

Questions:

–What companies outside of your industry do you follow?

–The observer  has only read your resume, introduce yourself?

–In your essay, you talked about your  passion for your industry, how did that develop?

–What keeps your CEO up at night?

–How do you work with limited information?

–Give me an example.

–Do you like the quant or qualitative parts of your job better?

–What happened to the project on resume?  Was it successful?

–How do you get your news?

–Name someone we both know that you admire?

–Name someone in your industry that you admire?

–What strengths and experiences do you need to become that person.

–How will I be different after 2 years at HBS?

— What challenge do I foresee at HBS? What is going to be hard for me at HBS (besides time managment)?

— How will your classmates remember me?
