Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of the MBA curriculum that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? It was the school’s meaningful international connections. CEIBS’ close ties with Europe, its founding links to IESE Business School, and a vast international alumni network were winning reasons for me to confirm CEIBS as my one and only option for an MBA in Asia.

CEIBS is known for “China Depth, Global Breadth.” What is the biggest appeal of earning an MBA in China? China already influences or has taken a leadership position in the worlds’ current and future major developments. If one thing has defined me in the last few years, it is my drive to see and understand things in person. You can always learn from others’ experiences… you can read, have a good chat, or surf the internet, always thirsty for new inputs, but nothing will compare to having your feet on the ground and seeing things with your eyes. For me, that was the biggest appeal of earning an MBA in China.

What club, class, or tradition are you most looking forward to at CEIBS? I’ve heard great things about the “Shanghai Night” event and the Gobi Desert Module – 88km and five days full of challenges that test teams to the limit.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: If you work in healthcare, then you will probably know that “Consumer Health (OTC, Nutrition, etc.) is different!” During my three years (2018-2021) in Singapore, we strongly posited the IQVIA Consumer Health brand in Southeast Asia, in a way that was very different from the traditional IQVIA Rx offerings. Because of this great work, our Southeast Asia Consumer Health Market Research team became a Global Center of Excellence in 2021.

What do you hope to do after earning your MBA and why will that be significant? As of today, I feel I’m one of those ambitious cases aiming for the “triple jump” (change of role, location and industry). I keep an open mind, but if it works out it will be a significant achievement for me.

What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into the CEIBS MBA program?

  1. Read the CEIBS website and follow the WeChat channels – the marketing team does a great job in bringing to life new content on an almost weekly basis.
  2. Reach out to the marketing team, alumni on LinkedIn, or the team of student ambassadors.
  3. Understand what the mission and values of the school are, what people say about CEIBS, and then see how you can connect the dots with what you have learned and who you are as a person; this is the same way you connect with people to see if you find that connection with the school.
  4. In your essays and interview, make sure your international background comes across… what value will you add in a class that is 60% from China?
