Hi, Aspiring leader, this is Deepak Punwani from MBA Exchange. You have some great credentials and few areas where you seem less competitive than other applicants to Wharton. Your Industrial Engineering degree and the 750 GMAT are definite wins in your profile. Also the start up experience in skills assessment space is very interesting. Its a growing industry in India and few start ups have had great exits in this space. This works in your favour. What reduces your chances is lack of extra curricular activities. While AISEC is a well known organisation, you don’t state the impact you had there and what it taught you. With limited worked, extra curricular activities become more important. While AISEC is a well known organisation, you don’t state the impact you had there and what it taught you. With limited worked, extra curricular activities become more important. Also you expressed a deep interest in the assessment space and even gave up an offer with a blue chip Big 4 firm. But your goals seems more aligned to big company roles as you refer to global rotational programs. So adcom will not have clarity on what really drives you in your professional life. This more than anything else almost prompted me to give you 10% chance but I stuck with 15% believing that you have a convincing story there. If you work on these aspects, your chances go up. Also since you seem to be in a growing industry at right time. the “why now” for MBA also becomes an important question to answer. Good luck.
Hello Mr. Aspiring Leader, Lisa Cummings of Stratus Admissions here. Your solid stats will be attractive to Wharton and your other target schools. So why the 10% rating? I know these are just short blurbs but I would need more information to give you a true assessment of your odds so don’t be dismayed by my number. Your work seems niche and very intersting, I’d want to see that fleshed out so we have a better understanding of your role. Your retention rate looks impressive, how were you able to achieve that? What part did you play in developing the subscription model – do you anticipate that it will continue to be utilized post- pandemic? I’d also like to learn more about you – …
I’d also like to learn more about you – what do you like to do and how do you spend your time outside of work and when you had free time in college? Schools do like to see community involvement. I suspect that when those questions are answered that your odds will improve significantly. Best of luck!
