I had an amazing experience working with Jenifer! Not only did she help me with my application, like other reviews here said, but she was also a great mentor, and I learned a lot about myself from her during the process! I decided to apply to MBA mid-year last year, quite late, and storytelling/essay writing is definitely one of my weaknesses. MBA application can be an extremely stressful and vulnerable process, but Jenifer was very patient. She learned about me in detail to make sure I can tell the best stories about myself to admissions. It was so easy to connect and open up to her, and from her global experiences, I felt like she really understood my experiences living in different countries and working in a global environment. As an M7 admit, I definitely could not have achieved this without her!
I worked with Julia Brady and Judith Silverman and they both did an exceptional job of helping me navigate through the application process of Wharton MBA program. Julia was very knowledgeable about the process and made sure everything was done correctly with a keen eye on details. As a cardiovascular surgeon, I needed Julia’s business school-focused overview of the application as well as advice on key components of the test-taking strategies. She was a great resource and a sounding board for structuring my vision of the candidate that I wanted Wharton to recognize. I was accepted to Wharton for my EMBA just a few weeks ago.
Emma worked with my primary coach to support my bid towards LBS MBA admission. After many drafts of application essays, Emma could still pick up things to adjust that ultimately helped me to showcase myself as a perfect candidate. Emma has been so responsive that at times even my husband was impressed when she reviewed and sent back her comment in less than an hour after I submitted my writings. Emma’s in-depth knowledge of LBS has also been incredibly helpful to ensure I think and plan strategically with my ongoing career. I am truly lucky to have her as my coach!
The reason I found Fortuna and chose Cassandra to help me with my application process was prompted by a very confusing experience with a rejection that I completely didn’t expect to happen in R1. Cassandra really helped me to turn the tide and we ended up getting an offer from my dream school. Through coaching sessions Cassandra was able to 1)throw away my self-doubt 2)strategically direct my focus on storytelling and make sure I make stories fit and stand out in the pool. Her advice on a very few points during my interview preparation made a huge difference. Sometimes it is really those nuances change the way people read us, and being able to guide someone to get those small details right tells the experience a truly great coach. I can’t recommend Cassandra more!
Trisha was my MBA admissions consultant as I applied to full time MBA programs this year and she was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. I come from a non-traditional background and Trisha was able to provide strategies and insights that really paid off as I applied to my target and reach programs. She provided constructive feedback on my essays and was always available for a quick chat when I needed to go over any revisions. Our meetings were productive and she had a game plan for every session to maximize the time we had together. Overall I had a great time working with her and can’t recommend her enough!
Simply put, Karla helped me turn my dream of attending Harvard Business School into a reality. She supported every step of the process and provided crucial information and resources to help me put my best foot forward as an international applicant. I cannot imagine having gone through this process without her, and she is a wonderful person to work with. If you are serious about attending a top MBA program, my recommendation is to surround yourself with the best people to make it happen. I’m lucky to have found Karla.
I had a great time working with Jessica throughout my MBA application process. Going into the process, I was apprehensive about how to approach MBA applications and knew that I wanted a consultant to help me along the way. What stood out about Jessica was not only her background, but I felt she genuinely cared about my success and not just giving routine advice.
The feedback she gave to my essays and overall application was very logical, made sense, and pushed me to think more about my goals and why I wanted to pursue an MBA – things that I found really important beyond just ‘getting in’. Many times throughout iterations and drafts of documents, I found myself being the bottleneck – which is a completely different experience than what I’ve heard from friends who have hired other consultants, where they’re usually the ones waiting to get materials back from their consultants.
Hiring a consultant is an expensive decision, but I’m glad I did – not only did I get accepted into one of my top choices, but I also got a substantial fellowship as well. I can definitely say I would have gotten worse results without Jessica’s help throughout it all. I’d enthusiastically recommend her to anyone interested in getting any level of support – especially if you’re looking at schools in the west coast!
I worked with Judith Silverman Hodara and Tatiana Nemo during the 2020-2021 MBA admissions cycle. I wholeheartedly recommend working with Judith and Fortuna Admissions if you’re considering hiring an MBA admissions consultant. Judith was instrumental to the ultimate success of my candidacy. From the first consultation, she took the time to get to know me and provide candid feedback, something I greatly appreciated. Whether it was reviewing a last minute edit of my essays before I pressed the “submit” button on my application, sharing expert knowledge on my target schools, or making herself available for an early morning strategy phone call, Judith was there to encourage and support me every step along the application journey. There is no better example of this than when my Round 1 applications didn’t make the cut in one of the most competitive admissions cycles in MBA history. Judith lifted my spirits, didn’t give up on me, and continued to work with me on another school’s application. It was clear that she was genuinely invested in my story and my success; she equipped me with the skills and focus needed for me to confidently put my best foot forward in the subsequent admissions round. I’m ecstatic to share that, thanks to Judith and Tatiana’s coaching, I will be heading to an M7 school in the fall. Thank you Judith!
Jessica is a light and such an amazing coach to work with! She is so attentive to the admissions process and knows exactly how to bring her client’s best foot forward. I valued her insights coming from an admissions background herself and always felt as though she had my best interest. 10/10!
This application process has been an inspirational journey of self-reflection that made me truly think about who I was, who I am, and who I want to be. When I first had my first free consultation, I was lost. I did not know where I wanted to apply and which school suits me best. Matt showed a great deal of knowledge about the schools and quickly understood what I was looking for, and hence matched me with Sharon. Sharon was not only an admission coach but also an emotional support system. She fostered an environment of trust, honesty, respect, and above all, faith! From our first preparation meeting, it was evident that she spent proper time in my strategy document and made sure she knew everything about me. She even made me take a CliftonStrength assessment to understand my strengths and weaknesses. Sharon pushed me to truly reflect on my past experiences and how they shaped me to become who I am today. She helped me truly present my personal brand in the best way possible and knew what each school was looking for. Because of her great attention to detail, she often reviewed my submissions multiple times before deadlines to ensure nothing slips through the cracks. When she wasn’t sure about something, she always levered Fortuna resources and availed all necessary experiences and knowledge from other coaches to help me prepare. During the interview preparation process, she absolutely went above and beyond! We must have done a dozen interviews because she genuinely wanted me to get admitted to my dream school. Overall, I am 100% satisfied and would definitely recommend Sharon from Fortuna to everyone!
Working with Zach and Fortuna was one of the best decisions I made throughout this application process. As a “non-traditional” MBA applicant, I was reticent to apply to reach programs. Zach’s encouraging and introspective comments boosted my confidence and supported me in crafting a wonderful application. On top of the guidance on MBA applications, Zach helped reframe my thoughts on my future career goals and helped me refine my story. Thanks to his insight and thoughtful feedback, I received an admit to the school of my dreams in an extremely competitive year. In addition, I had the chance to interact and work with other Fortuna staff members, who I found to be extremely supportive and professional. Highly recommend working with Zach and the rest of the Fortuna team.
When I had a consultation call with Karla, I knew that I wanted to work with her. The level of depth in which she explored every aspect of my story made me confident that we could write a compelling essay and profile together. Through the process, I had a lot of doubts and questions, and Karla was able to address all of them. She truly was a life coach, cheerleader, admissions consultant all in one!
Working with Karla, I gained confidence in my story and purpose for wanting to pursue an MBA. I received interviews at all schools I applied to and was ultimately accepted to HBS and Wharton (with a fellowship)! Karla was an amazing resource, and I highly recommend her services.
I first spoke with Michel several years before applying to MBA Programs – at the time, I was in information-gathering mode and testing the waters to see if a consultant may be worthwhile. Michel was extremely generous with her time and highly informative. Being on a budget, I was highly averse to hiring a consultant due to the high cost. With that said, in hindsight … Michel is worth every penny (and more) as she provides expertise, guidance, and structure that is truly game-changing. Michel is very responsive, she’s a realist and provides honest feedback/advice, and is also very encouraging, and provides a positive and exciting framework with which to tackle daunting MBA applications. She is super hands-on in terms of brainstorming, revising documents, meticulously reviewing materials, and specifically catering applications on a school-by-school basis. Best in the business. Michel’s guidance spans the gamut, and she’s incredibly helpful with interview prep. I engaged with Michel to apply to M7 schools, and it’s clear to me that I was able to put my best foot forward in large part because of Michel’s precise and process-driven approach. Again, worth every penny and Michel is a key factor in my admission to CBS, which I plan to attend in the Fall.
Karla is an absolute pleasure to work with! She has a consistently upbeat personality and is incredibly empathetic. Karla has experience working at HBS / GSB / INSEAD admissions, which gives her unique insight into the application process at these schools. If you engage Karla as a consultant, she goes above and beyond in getting to know you and helping you weave an authentic and compelling narrative. Her guidance and editing throughout the essay writing process and her direct knowledge of the interviewers are particularly helpful. I’m very grateful for Karla’s support throughout the application process and am confident I would not have pulled it off without her. I highly recommend her to any aspiring MBA student, especially those considering HBS.
I connected with Tatiana less than one month prior to my application deadline, and while I do recommend start working with much more anticipation, because of the circumstances I couldn’t, and still she helped me get the job done. In just 1 month, she worked during her vacations and reviewed my materials even on Christmas Day. She definitely understands what each school is looking for, and helps you understand which school makes sense for you and dig within your own story to really find what drives you. Additionally, her help with one school helped me also understand my own story to apply to different schools. Not only a great professional but also a great person! I really enjoyed working with her!
I worked with Jenny on my MBA application this year and she was very professional and helpful in inspiring me and preparing my application package. We communicated frequently to solve the problems during this application process and she acted more like a friend, she guided me and encouraging me to thrive. I got my dream offer and I am more than just grateful to Jenny!
I worked with Jenifer as a Round 2 candidate for the Class of 2023. As a reapplicant, I worked with an Admissions Consultant to identify ways to strengthen my application since I knew how competitive the process would be this year due to the pandemic. That said, I’m grateful to have found Jenifer! I purchased an 8-hour package, and within this brief period, she took the time to get to know me and went above and beyond to offer guidance on my essays, interviews, and overall story. When interacting with her, I felt like I was speaking with a mentor I have known for years.
She was genuinely interested in ensuring that I put forth the best application out there, and I suspect that not all Admissions Consultants put forth this level of care and effort when engaging with their clients. She is truly a gem :).
Working with her made the overall application process feel less stressful as she did a great job of keeping tabs on deadlines, sending me reminders to follow up with her, etc.
With her support, I am delighted to say that I will be attending my dream M7 school – Wharton – this fall. Thank you, Jenifer! Overall, I had a wonderful experience working with Fortuna, from the initial consultation to being paired with Jenifer. I would highly recommend it to anyone who feels that they need support (even as a reapplicant) when applying for an MBA program!
Amazing experience of working with Melissa and an admit from my top choice school!
I had applied for MBA previously and was rejected. I am 32 so on the higher side for FT MBA, have already been in a leadership role at a big automotive firm for a few years and was transitioning into running my own startup full-time. However, I just had this itch for wanting an FT MBA and decided a month or two before the deadlines last year that I wanted to give it a shot again. MBA has been a lifelong dream for me and I just had to pursue an MBA.
Before I go down the memory lane, thanks to Melissa and her hard work I have received admit to a top B school with a scholarship in a year that has been incredibly difficult for applicants especially international applicants given the deferrals from the previous year. I had talked to Mandira at Fortuna a while ago and had gotten a good feeling about Fortuna (positive first impression). After reaching out to Mandira again, she asked me to work with Melissa and Judith (director).
Melissa was very friendly and was always available. She really understood what really mattered to me and what made my story different and unique. Every now and then she would bring up points to use from my story which I was overlooking or feeling weren’t important. She is so much more than just an admissions consultant. She is one of those few people you would want to stay connected with forever.
Melissa and Judith worked great as a tag team. They helped me formulate my strategy for applications, narrow down on schools, write essay and applications and prep for interviews, and all the other gazillion things that go along with the process.
Because I was so late in the game, I was often worried about finishing my applications by the deadline but Melissa always pleasantly surprised me by her wealth of knowledge and by pulling us out of tight spots. As I was behind on my school research Melissa helped narrow down the resources for me at the particular schools. Even though we were in a time crunch, Melissa never skimped on the quality of work. We wrote and re-wrote until the essays and answers felt perfect.
Another aspect that I would like to mention about Fortuna is that they work great as a team in how they distribute the tasks and manage the applications as a project management task.
I would highly recommend Melissa to anyone applying for MBA. She made the journey from beginning to end (an offer) really enjoyable.
Karla was instrumental in helping me navigate (and quite frankly, calm me down) throughout the HBS waitlist process. She helped me put my best foot forward and eventually convert into an admit.
As I was going through the process, I wanted to find a consultant who would take the time to fundamentally understand my story and application rather than treat the process as a business transaction. Karla met and significantly surpassed all of my expectations! She really put in the time and effort to understand my application and as a result, was able to offer great insights and coaching advice along the way. Where Karla really shined for me, however, was during the interview process. Because Karla took the time to really understand me and get to know me on a personal level, she was able to help me draw out the key pieces of my story and guide me on how to best approach the interview. She identified where I had weaknesses and helped me strengthen them, which was a critical component to my interview. Finally, because HBS was my target school, Karla was able to draw on her extensive experience at HBS and offer unique insights that other consultants simply could not have. If you are looking for a consultant who truly takes the time to dive into your application, understand your story, and be as available and helpful as possible for all of your application needs, questions and concerns – look no further!! I promise you won’t be disappointed!
The headline says it all. Cassandra was such an important part of my admission into CBS. She was helpful during each and every stage of my application. Above all else, she was honest, thoughtful, and genuinely caring.
We worked on a very tight schedule as I only had one month to get my application submitted; but at that time, I only had the first drafts of my essays completed. Knowing this, along with how competitive this year was, Cassandra was candidly realistic yet optimistic about my chances. In a short period of time, Cassandra learned my story inside and out. She helped me identify the most important pieces of myself and properly articulate them in my essays. My mock interview with her played a vital role in ensuring that I put my best foot forward.
I am very grateful to Cassandra for helping me get to where I am and highly recommend her for anyone looking to put together a competitive application.
I would 100% recommend Judith as a consultant. Judith is very kind and patient, which is super important in what can be a rather sensitive journey. I was a returning applicant and she really helped me find a unique story to tell in my reapplicant essay. I am so glad I went with her because I would have probably gone in a generic direction that wouldn’t make me stand out. Her service is a worthy investment in your future.
Jessica Chung was EXTREMELY helpful in my process of re-applying to UCLA Anderson School of Business’s Full-Time MBA Program. Because I had already written my application essays and filled out most of the application, I came to Jessica for specific feedback on my essays and overall application approach. Not only was she extremely willing to chat over the phone and work through my essays and questions (she was very generous with her time!), but she was able to give me direct advice that was specific to Anderson. It was very evident that Jessica had Admissions Committee experience throughout the process and I have no doubt that Jessica would be an amazing resource for anyone applying to Anderson or another MBA school, whether for hourly services or a more comprehensive admissions consultant package.
I knew I wanted to get an MBA. However, I wasn’t confident that I would be able to craft my application in a way that would showcase my strengths or get my story across. I debated getting an admissions consultant because of the cost, but it was 100% worth it. I think a huge pro of having a consultant is the detailed feedback and ability to circumvent any potential hurdles in the application process.
Working with Michel was a breeze! She is super professional and honest and responds very quickly. I was able to share my story with Michel and we were able to work together to craft my entire application. She got into the details of my essays and provided great feedback to make sure my story came across. She also helped me prepare for my interview, being sure to provide comments on the best parts and areas of improvement within my responses.
She truly wants to see you succeed and is willing at any time to hop on a call to answer any questions or help you brainstorm. I worked with Michel for two M7 school apps and used the information she shared to work on my other applications. With Michel’s help, I was able to interview at two schools and ultimately got admitted to an M7 with a scholarship!! If you are thinking of hiring an admissions consultant, look no further than Fortuna and Michel! They are the BEST!
Karen has been extremely helpful during all stages of the application process. She has put a great deal of work to ensure that my post-MBA career narrative is compelling and achievable, and also guided me through the way of self-reflection all the way through the past to come up with a fascinating personal story. Her deep understanding of the application process from the view of adcoms, as well as time and effort spent on knowing applicant’s strengths and weaknesses is the major reason why I can finally get into my preferred dream school.
While going through my early consultations with various consultants, Karen stood out to me because right off the bat in our phone call I felt like she was interested in MY story and how we could work on making it the most appealing to admissions. Many other consultations made me feel like they were just checking the box going through the conversation.
Ultimately, I ended up working with Karen and another consultant from Fortuna, with Karen overseeing the progress. I found her insight on our strategy calls very insightful and she helped me really find the parts of my application that made me stand out.
Trisha played an instrumental role in not only helping me develop the stories for my essays but also helped me really think about the reasons behind why I wanted an MBA. I feel as if this translated into stronger final essays and helped with admissions.
She was also very timely at returning edits to me and helpful at managing deadlines when I would fall behind a bit from being busy with work. Some of my essays easily went through 10 iterations (2 even had complete rewrites) and she was always quick to review and provide thoughtful feedback.
Finally she was almost always available to set up time to meet. I found this particularly helpful for brainstorming essays and getting some ideas down. She was easy to brainstorm with and great at helping pull together different topics I was considering or dive into a certain story I had to make it work.
I worked with Sharon on my HAAS EWMBA application through Fortuna using their hourly services package. Sharon’s nuanced understanding of what the Ad com looks for in a candidate was extremely useful. She was very good at identifying my strengths and did an excellent job of crafting an application strategy around them. Her attention to detail is extremely impressive and she is very easy to work with. We connected a month before the deadline and her focused work helped me complete my application with a week left. I highly recommend Sharon as an MBA coach.
From the start, Karen was candid about addressing the challenging aspects of my application, including laying out a plan for how we would overcome these obstacles during the process. Her keen insight about what would be required to make a strong application and to be competitive was reassuring and boosted my confidence throughout an enormously competitive year (COVID cycle). Talking with her felt like speaking with a person who lived, breathed, and dreamed about the application process and understood what the adcom would be looking for in a student.
I initially connected with Karen during the late summer of 2020, while vetting various MBA consulting agencies. (Fortunately, I was paired with her during my free Fortuna evaluation, only a few weeks before she was named one of the top 7 consultants by Poets & Quants). During the consultant evaluation process, there were others who would not work with me because they didn’t think I could pull off admittance to a top program due to my limited quant background and OK quant score. Karen never wavered in her belief in my ability to gain admission into an M-7 program (during perhaps the most competitive cycle in history). I am eager to attend Columbia in the fall and know that Karen played an instrumental role in my offer. She was pleasant to work with and I would recommend her to anyone who desires to enter a top program.
I had a wonderful experience working with Jessica! She helped me tremendously with updating my resume, briefing my recommenders, and tailoring my essays for each school, all of which would have been really difficult to navigate not having any friends or coworkers who were applying at the same time as I did. As a result, I knew what to highlight in my applications and how to approach different problems and questions. Jessica was also quick to answer my questions and gave me confidence when I was preparing for my interviews, which meant a lot considering her wealth of experience working with students and in admissions herself. All of this resulted in an acceptance to one of my top choice schools with a fellowship! Would highly recommend working with Jessica if you have the opportunity to do so!
I had a great experience with Zach and was accepted to my top choice schools. Zach was exceedingly helpful in guiding me towards a coherent story that aligned with my past experiences. He helped me understand key selling points and create a plan for communicating these points across my applications. Zach was a fantastic listener and added thoughtful insights at each step of the application process. I would recommend Zach to any prospective business school applicant.
Jessica greatly helped me throughout the stressful application process from start to finish. She genuinely cared for my success and gave me honest opinions from selecting which programs to select based on my background, statistics, and career interests. She is very knowledgeable about the process as she was previously part of the admissions team at UCLA. Without the help from Jessica, I would not have been able to finish and submit the best possible application to the schools of my choice.
From knowing not too much about how to approach each application, Jessica provided detailed steps to tailor each application to specific schools. As a result, I was able to get accepted to a great program with a scholarship! I’d highly recommend Jessica to ease anyone’s stressful MBA application process.
I worked with Jenifer for 6 months applying to 5 different schools. With her help and guidance, I was invited to interview with four of them. All schools are very competitive top MBA programs.
Jenifer is an amazing person and coach. She goes above and beyond in getting to know her clients in order to cater to the best story about them. We built an amazing relationship that I am sure will last for good. She is very genuine in her feedback and guidance which what candidates need the most in preparing their applications.
I consider myself very lucky to have worked with her. You are great Jenny!
TYK!
I had a fantastic experience working with Judith; I am delighted to offer my strongest recommendation. Judith has an unparalleled ability to meaningfully connect the dots between seemingly disjointed experiences in a candidate’s profile. Judith’s analytical shrewdness allows her to craft a personally tailored approach that combines big-picture thinking (such as identifying the most compelling narrative given a candidate’s background) with micro-level execution strategy (such as determining the proper sequence in which examples ought to appear in an essay). Her written feedback on essay drafts was invariably thought-provoking, reflecting a keen eye for detail. Judith demonstrated great flexibility throughout my engagement. She was always extremely quick to reply to my email queries and would take calls on very short notice. It was abundantly clear that Judith was wholeheartedly invested in my success. I look forward to starting my MBA at Stanford GSB this fall!
I had an excellent experience working with Malvina. As a reapplicant, I can tell her feedback on my applications really made a difference. Her insights about the schools helped me submit authentic, high-quality applications and thanks to her detailed feedback on our mock interview, I felt very well prepared for the real one. In addition to being very professional, Malvina was also a pleasure to work with, always delivering feedback in a very kind and supportive way, and providing guidance throughout the entire process. In the end, I secured an offer from my top choice school. I very much recommend working with her!
I had an extremely positive experience working with Rachel on my mock interviews for Stanford GSB. Rachel, a GSB alum, has an unrivaled understanding of the type of questions Stanford interviewers like to ask. Thanks to her I was able to correctly predict many of the questions thrown at me at my actual interview. Rachel is highly conscientious: she is deeply invested in the success of her students. After my mock interview, she sent me several pages of action-oriented notes within 24 hours. These covered everything from how to convey my examples more vividly to my choice of attire. Rachel’s strategic advice proved critical to my success.
I worked with Michel during this year’s admission cycle, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. Thanks to Michel, I was able to gain acceptance to two of my target schools in what I believe has been the most competitive year for international applicants in recent memory. Michel has all of the attributes you would expect from a top-tier admissions consultant; perspective on what top schools are looking for in an application, speedy turnaround on feedback, and great insights on how to ace interviews. These attributes, coupled with the feeling that Michel was genuinely invested in my success, made it easy to form a strong working relationship in short order. Having this type of relationship with your consultant is critical because schools will expect that you reveal your authentic self in your applications, and it is hard to be vulnerable enough to do that if you’re not working with someone you trust. If you are considering working with an admissions consultant, take the time to have an introductory call with Michel; I suspect you’ll be able to quickly confirm everything I have claimed above!
As an applicant, I was initially hesitant to hire a consultant due to the cost, and I can confidently say the experience with Michel was nothing short of amazing. I would say what differentiates Michel is i) her strategic perspective on my profile (ii) her extensive experience and guidance, and (iii) finally, her humor and dedication throughout the application journey. Initially, I had a view of how I wanted to craft my story and application, coming from more of a common background in finance. Michel provided specific viewpoints and honest feedback as to how I could differentiate myself which allowed my voice to come through in the essays by highlighting parts of my background that I did not think of synthesizing. Furthermore, Michel’s guidance was invaluable throughout the process – whether that is reviewing the essays, to the recommender deck, or preparations for the interviews. She ensured that I always brought out the best part of my candidacy in each step and prepared for any hurdles. Lastly, Michel is frankly a pleasure to work with – she is always ready to hop on a call to bounce ideas, is open and honest, has a great sense of humor, and is truly an advocate for me. I cannot thank her enough for her wisdom in the process, and I was able to secure a place at my dream school (HSW) and another M7 school because of her efforts. I highly recommend partnering with Michel if you are serious about your MBA application process!
I can’t say enough great things about Karen! She was incredible to work with, and provided everything you could want in a coach, and much much more.
She was always there for me every step of the way and provided a wealth of experience and insight as I was progressing through the process.
She is an incredibly dedicated, capable, knowledgable, and empathetic person to work with.
I was thrilled to get admitted to an M7 school, and Karen’s insight and expertise took away the stress and made it a very enjoyable, reflective, and rewarding experience.
If you’re aspiring to gain admission into a top MBA program, I can’t imagine anything better than having Karen in your corner 🙂
As someone who started the process rather late and had no clue where to start, I was looking for someone who was willing to dedicate the time but I was not expecting someone who would also put in the effort to getting to know me personally. Karla was the whole package and then some. From our first conversations, I could tell that she was very familiar with how to help her clients get to top schools. What sets Karla apart though, is her ability to connect with you on a personal level to draw out key pieces of your personal story and coach you to weave a cohesive narrative. I enjoyed working with her because she was patient, empathetic, but always focused on making sure that I was putting the best version of myself into the process. This didn’t start and stop at the application phase of the process, but she helped me think about my school selection all the way through the interview preparation. I got into 2 M7s and can confidently say I couldn’t have done it without her help. Go with Karla if you want someone who will spend the time to get to know you beyond your credentials in order to help build your story, you won’t be disappointed!
I chose to work with Heidi after speaking with a dozen of consultants and she proved I was right. She is extraordinarily supportive, always available, and superbly experience with the MBA application journey. She guided me through every step in the process from the very beginning, and her presence just eased my anxiety away.
She helped me the most with my essays – walking me through my experiences to find the theme, offering insights about my characteristics that I wasn’t self-aware, giving me the freedom to test out different ideas, and offering great feedback on each one. She’s definitely an amazing partner to work with and a key contributor to my multiple offers!
Working with Mr. White was the best decision I’ve made. With a combination of his communication as well as education experience, Mr. White was able to help my application and story on many different levels – levels that I did not know existed.
His leadership style was laissez-faire (at least with me), encouraging me to take the lead and think deep within my life to proactively bring out new, creative ideas while he provided direction. This brought out the best in me and I was able to dig out stories and examples that I would not have otherwise been able to. He competently orchestrated these diverse stories into a well thought out application, as he understood my unique selling points and matched them to the school’s values. He constantly thought about my application at a macro as well as micro level, helping me add valuable details to my application while sticking to a theme – keeping the bigger picture in mind.
He was always available to chat and answer my questions. He understood the complex application process through a student’s lens and therefore was patient with me throughout the journey.
I highly recommend Mr. White for one’s MBA application.
I worked with Julie on my Wharton application, which I then used for 5 other schools. I received an invitation at all schools, and admitted to Ross ($$), Tuck, and Wharton. Julie was a tremendous help throughout the entire process, even with a relatively aggressive round 1 timeline.
I was connected with Sharon with less than a month before my applications were due and she helped me push to the finish line! She helped me mainly with my essays, pushing me to really consider what my point was and how to use the word count to my advantage. Her response time was incredible and she worked efficiently to make the best use of her time. I have no doubt that working with her helped in my admission acceptance. I HIGHLY recommend working with her and will always be grateful for the value she provided to me.
I had the pleasure and privilege to work with Heidi for my applications to 6 top MBA programs in the US, and ultimately got accepted by 4 schools. As an applicant of South Asian origin working in finance, my two biggest concerns were presenting a differentiated enough story amongst what tends to be one of the most competitive pools in the application process + being able to put my best foot forward given the demanding nature of each application and the limited time I had with my job to focus on the application process.
Heidi made the process incredibly seamless. I found her to be a great listener, where she gave me the freedom to craft my own story, while constantly challenging me on bits that needed more work/clarification. Once we developed the general narrative, Heidi had specific, pointed feedback on how to modify the story for each school, thereby allowing me to put my best foot forward and obviously typifying her differentiated understanding on what different schools are looking for. The application process is ultimately a game of margins, and I felt that Heidi’s knowledge and expertise brought an additional element of specificity to my applications which I could have never achieved on my own.
Heidi was also extremely methodical in her approach and we did a lot of legwork around putting different aspects of my personality, interests, past experiences etc. into tangible narratives, prior to starting the essay writing process. The impact of all of this work was that by the time I had finished writing my applications, not only had I internalized my “business school story” fully, but also fully internalized the dozens of other things that then came handy when the interviews started rolling in a few months. I cannot stress enough how easy it made the interview process, where I did not feel the need to do dozens of mocks or anything, because the fundamentals of my story were so clearly laid out owing to the work I did with Heidi. This is a testament to Heidi’s experience and vision as a coach, where the path from application inception to interview is fully clear in her mind, and the work she makes you put in the beginning goes a long way in the application cycle.
The other standout quality for me was Heidi’s incredible work ethic and how available she made herself to make the process easier for me. Turnaround time for every single draft was almost always less than 24 hours, and if for some reason there was a conflict on her side, the communication around it was super clear and significantly well in advance. Furthermore, Heidi’s calendar was always open to schedule a call to discuss literally anything, brainstorm ideas etc. There were never any limitations on phone/video calls – she was always there. Going into the application process this was the type of unbarred access and support I had hoped to receive, and Heidi simply over-delivered on this aspect.
Five stars all the way for Heidi. The business school application process is an incredible commitment on so many fronts, and Heidi could not have been a better mentor and coach to not only make the process seamless but incredibly rewarding in itself.
I knew that I’d want to maximize my chances with my application to business school, so using a consultant was always my plan. But I had not expected the level of attentiveness, insight and open-mindedness that Karen would provide, and her methods helped me earn a massive scholarship at an M7 school. I credit Karen for not making assumptions about what her clients need from her nor what they should focus on in their applications. She takes the time to deeply understand your perspective and your story so that you can create the best application for you.
Sharon was a joy to work with! Not only is she professional, she is also personable and fun. She truly tailors her services to your needs and encourages you to think introspectively as you navigate your interview prep, your essays, etc. Life will continue after the MBA and I have no doubt that Sharon’s advice will serve me well long after I graduate.
Judith is definitely the best of the best! I decided to work with Judith after speaking with a number of MBA consultants because I was very impressed with her experiences in this industry, and more importantly, felt related to her after our 1st call. On the first call (free consultation) she showed interest in my experiences and asked why I chose my current career path and how I became who I am. Judith helped me get into Booth for R1, and I applied for a few other M7 schools for r2 and will see how it goes!
Judith is great to work with. She is super responsive whenever I have a question and always has the right answers. During the whole process, I strongly felt that Judith cared about me not just as a consultant but also as a mentor, and thus I felt really comfortable having her on my side with more confidence in my application.
She knows all the M7 programs very well and can provide very personalized advice on selecting a school. She was able to help me clarify my approach for my schools of interest and more specifically knew the schools well enough to point me to the right resource for a specific program and why I was a good fit for the school with my background.
More importantly, Judith has such a great network with former gatekeepers of a lot of the programs, i.e. when I got an interview invitation from Booth, she immediately prepared me with one former Admission Director from Booth for a mock interview. She even provided a 2nd mock interview (on the house!!) just because she wanted me to be more prepared. Later on, I got an offer from Booth. I am from Asia (a very competitive application pool) and everyone knows that 2020 is a tough year. Thank you, Judith!
I honestly cannot recommend Fortuna enough! I interviewed with 3 different consulting companies prior to deciding on Fortuna. They don’t pressure you into working with someone but instead are extremely active in helping you set up coach interviews and finding your best match. The team at Fortuna was extremely helpful and would leverage each other’s expertise to help me craft the best application. Each of my applications/essays/school choices received attention from ~3 directors/consultants.
Cassandra was amazing since our very first call! I reached out to her in mid-July with zero progress on my applications, and we submitted all my applications by October. From the very beginning, she was very honest in providing feedback and the realistic programs to apply to. From there, she recognized my strengths and made sure my applications really highlighted them. I most valued her ability to help me craft a compelling story and her WRITING SKILLS (!), something that I knew I needed help with. I received offers from HEC Paris (with scholarship!) and Cambridge Judge.
The entire process was surprisingly enjoyable, all thanks to Cassandra!
If I could back in time, I would have met Karen sooner! Coming out of an unsuccessful MBA application year, I decided to seek out help. I signed up for numerous introductory sessions with MBA consultants, but Karen stood out from the rest! From the start, Karen was proactive, attentive, and thoughtful. She took the time to understand my background and helped me put my best foot forward for my essays, resume, and interview prep. Most importantly, I never felt misguided or pushed, and because of this, Karen was someone I could trust. There’s so much more I want to say, but ultimately, Karen was a joy to work with, and I am happy to announce that I will be attending Wharton (my top choice) this August.
