Whether you are absolutely confident about your application and target school(s) or you need an entire review of your thought process and application strategy, I wholeheartedly recommend you consult Karen. She will help you improve regardless of your starting point.
I came into my talks with Karen late in the process (our first conversation took place three weeks before deadline) and I was stressed about untangling, structure and combining all the different components of my background coherently and on time. Karen helped me do precisely that and made sure I had well-rounded application for all my target schools.
While a graduate of CBS, Karen really is an expert on all top programs and all components of the application. She is sharp, observant, organized, and exceptionally structured and creative. Together, these qualities make her remarkably adept in helping you finding your angel and uniqueness and structure it into a compelling story. An MBA alumna herself, she can draw on her own experiences from applying and going through a top program with all that it implies (studies, recruiting, career paths) and can personally relate to all the emotional swings and temporary confidence and insecurities that the daunting and exciting application process brings with it.
All her professional abilities are blended in with her emphatic, honest, and caring personality, making her an exceptionally present and encouraging support along the way and an absolute pleasure to work with.
I cannot emphasize enough my high regards for Karen and my recommendation for anyone with the ambition to enter any competitive MBA program to talk to her. It will make all the difference for you, as it did for me.
Karen was amazing from the very beginning. She got to know me, helped me realize my strengths and quirks, and set out a schedule for me to make my application as strong as possible. She was extremely fast to reply to all my requests and many edits. She supported me the whole way through and made some vital changes to my application that gave me an edge. She was kind, thoughtful, and insightful. I have never worked with such a good college counselor.
Jessica was great in helping me define my story so that admissions can see the full picture of who I am and why I am planning to go to business school. I worked with Jessica specifically on the resume and essay pieces where she would ask questions and provided feedback making me reflect on myself, career, and aspirations. During the grueling task of completing multiple applications, she helped to keep me on track to meet deadlines. She often would respond and provide feedback on weekends as well, I could tell she genuinely wants to help applicants achieve their goals. I have heard back from one of the programs with positive results, and fingers remain crossed for more success. Jessica certainly will help you put your best foot forward in crafting your story so that admissions will see why you will be a fit in their program. Thank you, Jessica!
Cassandra has been the most important piece of the very intricate puzzle that is the HBS application. From start to finish she has been there not only in the application related issues but also in the more personal decision I had to make in the last 18 months as a professional and (incredibly) as a friend.
Crafting a convincing application takes a lot of time and effort, and it is crucial to have someone guiding you each step of the way which is able to look at your profile from an external (expert) view.
Cassandra will be the most important investment you’ll make to get into your dream school!
I worked 1-1 with Karla for my MIT Sloan MBA application on what was a tight 2-week application deadline, and thanks to her amazing teamwork and turnaround time we were able to get my application in with a week to spare! Needless to say, we were successful and I am now a proud admit.
Karla has deep insight into the adcom’s processes, styles, and thinking, and she specifically knew exactly how to craft and tweak my generic application story to target MIT Sloan. Most importantly, she gave me the confidence to tell my story through the application and interview stages and I no longer felt like I was submitting my materials into a black hole with no feedback! I highly recommend her as a consultant.
Emma is such a wonderful consultant that very much cares about you as a person and in helping you get to your dream school.
As a former member of the admissions committee at LBS, Emma has an insightful perspective of what the admissions committee are looking for when reviewing a candidate. After reviewing my application, she helped pull everything from my experiences to show me in the best light and make my application truly shine.
Emma is incredibly easy to talk to, funny, and goes above and beyond to make herself available to provide guidance and advice. She encourages, but at the same time, she is honest about the things that you need to hear and the weaknesses that you’ll need to find solutions for through other parts of your application. The application process is a tough process —so having someone in your corner like Emma with all of her knowledge and experience as a sounding board made me feel as if I had an outside perspective on whether I was pursuing the right path and narrative.
In terms of working with Emma – she was incredibly helpful and prompt in her responses. Emma is an essay editing queen and takes a lot of pride in her work, which absolutely showed. She turned around my materials quickly, usually in 24 hours, and always came back with a lot of detailed notes on how I could improve and make things better. Even when I changed parts of my application at the last minute on the day of submission, she cleared out time to provide mark-ups and guidance at the last second. She was also great at providing constructive feedback that made it easy for me to understand how to move forward. My essays and short answers were significantly stronger because I had her guidance. She was also super helpful with interview prep and gave great detailed feedback on what you do well and where to improve.
With Emma’s help, I was able to get in my top school in R3 even though I had an area of weakness in my application. If you are looking for a consultant, I highly recommend working Emma, especially if you are looking at LBS. She brings so much expertise, but more importantly, she cares and is invested in her client. I’m glad to have had her in my application process!
When I was accepted to HBS, Karla was the first person I called.
I was fortunate to be able to work with her. Karla supported me on the business school front (demystifying the application process, interview practice, etc.)… she also enabled me to reflect deeply on my career goals.
Karla is an expert in her field and extremely knowledgeable. Better yet, she is also passionate, insightful, beyond supportive, and kind.
Adored by her clients and truly one of the best-kept secrets in the b-school world. I highly recommend Karla!
I was interested in schools in the UK – and working with Emma was the absolute best decision I made! She has years of experience working on the admissions team at London Business School, in addition to experience at other schools including Imperial. Right away, Emma took the time to get to know me on a personal level. It was clear she has mastered the admissions process and was able to provide strong direction, insight, and strategy. I was waitlisted at my top school (LBS) and Emma helped me through this stressful process every step of the way. I ended up getting admitted, and I honestly could not have done it without Emma’s help and support! If you’re applying for MBA programs (especially in the UK), I highly recommend Emma with a ringing endorsement. In addition to her talent and experience, she is truly wonderful to work with and is so thoughtful and caring!
I took the premium package service with Emma Bond. I received an offer from my number one target – LBS. Overall, my experience working with Emma has surpassed my expectation.
Emma is a superb writer. As a former admissions director who has reviewed hundreds of thousands of applications, she knows exactly how to turn your thoughts into words that the admission officers like. Her use of words is beautiful but concise. I often struggle with the word limit, and every time she was able to help me get down to the requirement without impacting the depth of meaning I wanted to convey. Sometimes I even felt that I only needed to simply write down my thoughts and Emma would always have the magic to turn them into pieces of art.
Emma helps you come up with the right story. We had a brainstorming session for each school that I applied and each session was pleasant for me. Emma is a good listener and helps you identify the spotlight in your story. She also has a great attitude. I remembered I wanted to change the entire logic and structure of my HBS essay midway through the process and she had no complaint about it. She worked diligently with me on that essay and we were able to achieve a satisfactory piece of work in the end.
Emma is professional and responsive. I remember even when she was in the middle of her vacation at a place where WIFI is super limited, she still got back to me as soon as she can. At normal times, she returned work within 1 day even though the official turn-around requirement is 2 days. It really helped me achieve my tight timeline. Additionally, many other consultants usually took recommendation letters lightly, but Emma spent time with me and my recommender to come up with the right materials in application.
If you’re applying to LBS, Emma is no doubt THE best consultant you can find in the market. As a former admissions director, she knew the inside out of LBS. She still maintained direct contact with insiders. I was not very confident after my 1-on-1 interview, and she was able to ask feedback from the current admissions director which gave me a huge comfort. Emma knows exactly what LBS looks for and will give you the best chance to get that offer.
Finally, Emma prepares you well for interviews. The LBS video interview is tricky and high demanding as it requires candidates to respond promptly on the spot. Emma went through the interview process with me twice and made me confident enough to face the challenge. I still remembered the feeling when I was doing the real thing – I felt calm, well prepared, and excited to answer the questions.
The decision to work with Taniel was a wonderful one. From the get-go, Taniel took the time to understand my unique experiences and how they would impact my business school application. He was able to identify my strengths and weaknesses, including many smaller details that I had not considered, and provided actionable advice based on his analysis. We worked together to develop a game plan that allowed me to put my best foot forward. In addition, Taniel provided details on each of the schools I was considering applying to that would not be found in a typical Google search and which were extremely valuable when it came time to decide which schools to apply to. I have had an excellent experience with Taniel and regardless of the outcome of my application, I am very satisfied with the service he has provided.
I highly recommend Taniel. He was very responsive and efficient throughout the process. He was always able to give me very helpful and insightful feedback for working on each draft of my essay. Since he attended HBS recently, he was able to give me school-specific advice that other consultants could not. When I initially contacted him, I was very stressed and had a lot of work to do on my essays. However, with every draft, my essay got much better, with Taniel’s detailed comments for editing and continued support. My essay came a long way with his help, and couldn’t have imagined applying without him.
Working with Sharon and Fortuna has been an incredible experience.
Through a friend’s recommendation, I reached out to Sharon to learn more about her experience and Fortuna. Specifically, I was curious on how I fared against other applicants and to discuss my chances of admission considering my background, undergraduate experience and career.
Sharon recommended doing the Early Stage Planning (ESP) package to have a clear path ahead to gain admissions to a top MBA program and to focus on bolstering my overall profile. This is where Sharon’s analysis and experience in the field truly shined. After completing a simple questionnaire detailing information about my past, as well as future goals, and a CliftonStrengths assessment (she is a certified coach for this), Sharon and I reviewed my strengths, weakness and the factors in my candidacy that I should leverage.
I was initially planning to apply for the 2021 cycle, but Sharon provided the confidence and support I needed to apply for this year’s round instead, given some of the extended deadlines. I took a leap of faith and successfully landed my dream school…with a generous scholarship!
Early Stage Planning with Sharon is an absolute must if you’re on the fence about when to apply, what b-school programs you should consider and learning more about your standing as a candidate. I highly recommend this package if you’re planning to pursue an MBA at any time in the future – it’s a holistic and thorough review that was more insightful than I thought possible. Everything covered in ESP came handy at many points in the application. A lot of what we discussed was very helpful for building my admission essays, prepping for my interview and finally submitting.
I would absolutely recommend Sharon and Fortuna!
I contacted Matt (post-interviews) for LBS/INSEAD after having been waitlisted for one and admitted to the other and he provided very useful information that I could not obtain online myself relating to the waitlist process. I subsequently contacted the Business School and requested a transfer to a different waitlist intake allowing me to gain admittance.
There was no hard sell in the initial contact which was refreshing.
I am an international student and I worked with Karen Hamou on an hourly basis for my R3 applications to an M7 school and a few Top 15 schools. I reached out to Fortuna because I had worked with a consultant from another company in R2 and I was disappointed with their service and my results. In contrast, Karen and Fortuna provided a very high quality of service and they were invested in my success from day 1.
In addition to helping me navigate the uncertainties associated with Covid-19 and produce high-quality applications to my R3 schools, Karen also helped me strategize my waitlist approach for some of my R2 schools (i.e. test retakes, sending updates). Karen helped me structure my essays, coach my recommenders and prepare for my interviews. For my essays, she edited them repeatedly until the stories were strong and compelling. She was extremely efficient and provided high value for the money I spent on the hourly consulting services. Karen was always available whenever I needed her support – turnaround time was less than 24 hours on most materials.
There are so many things to do when you are applying to over half a dozen schools and Karen helped me prioritize the most important tasks so that I was always on top of things. As offers started rolling in, she gave me advice on how to handle them as I waited for my dream school to accept me.
Thanks to Karen’s incredible support, I received an offer from Booth and I am excited that I get to attend such a fantastic school! I would not have been able achieve this without her and I enthusiastically recommend Karen and Fortuna admissions for all your MBA application needs!
From my first interaction with Fortuna, I knew it was the right choice! I had the first consultation with Matt Symonds and I can’t tell enough good things about him. I was rather conservative with my school choices, but he encouraged me to apply to the schools I wouldn’t have had the guts to go for otherwise. He went above and beyond to even get a second opinion about my profile from one of the directors, just to build up my confidence and motivate for a higher GMAT score.
Unfortunately, from my first interaction with Fortuna, in 3 years’ time, I had to postpone my MBA plans twice. Yet, when I decided to finally try my chances, we restarted the conversation as if it was “yesterday”. I had been matched with Karen, and I don’t think I could’ve hoped for a better coach than her. Karen is absolutely AMAZING! AMAZING. I contacted her less than 2 weeks before the deadline and I was prepared for a rather conservative answer. Instead, she got me mobilized immediately. She sought to genuinely understand my story, helped me highlight the distinctive aspects of my profile, and gave candid feedback on my essays. She is absolutely brilliant at distilling the core points and conveying the same meaningful message in an elegant and succinct way. Her reviews are thorough and impeccable. “Prompt and timely answers” would be an understatement – she made herself available even during the weekend and was always flexible and accomodating of my crazy schedule, especially given the tight deadline. She is the perfect combination of the sweetest cheerleader and most professional coach. I really can’t thank Karen enough for her help and encouragement during the intense sprint. I couldn’t have made it without her.
I don’t want to close this without extending my thanks to Caroline Diarte Edwards as well for her support and to the point tips and advice. Also, thanks to Judith Hodara for making the celebration day feel even more special. (I was admitted to MIT Sloan, my dream school.)
Fortuna Team is just the best and can’t recommend them enough.
Working with Malvina on my applications was one of the best decisions I’ve made. She is extremely knowledgeable of all the top schools, and she was able to always ask the right questions to push me towards a better application. Through direct work with Malvina, I got into Fuqua, and using the ideas Malvina and I discussed, I also got into Berkeley and Kellogg. Very much recommended!
I received my dream offer to INSEAD (at round 4 with not very competitive scores), thanks to Caroline’s quick, efficient, and personalized advice along the way. I signed up for the CSP, but Caroline is there in providing tremendous support whenever I needed it. I have a very unique case that INSEAD requested a few communications and supporting documents before the final offer. Caroline knows the school inside out that she provided personalized and strategic advice in helping me handle the communications with the school. She and Melissa believe in my story and help me convey that in a genuine and concise way in presenting to the adcom. Once I was admitted, she was kind enough to have another call with me to share the tips in preparing for INSEAD and share with me INSEAD alumni association information in the bay area.
I can’t be happier that I’m heading to France and Singapore to have my MBA adventure in a few months because of Caroline’s help!
I can’t thank Melissa enough to make my dream of going to INSEAD come true! Working with Melissa is extremely insightful, inspiring, yet painless because she brings years of experiences, top-notch expertise, and absolutely amazing work ethic and professionalism.
First, Melissa listens. You may think that you just have a great conversation with a friend, but after the conversation, she can strategically turn your talking points into suggested key themes for the essays that fit into schools’ selection criteria seamlessly.
Second, Melissa can quickly understand your strengths and weaknesses and customize her way of working with you accordingly. With limited word counts for the application, she knows clearly what stories can show your best qualities, what stories to cut/or how to make them more concise. She makes sure that what you want to convey and what makes you stand out nicely show in your essays in a way that’s written in your own tone and that touches the readers/adcom naturally.
Moreover, Melissa gently pushes you. She’s so experienced in the application process that she knows when to do what makes the process most efficient and effective. She always gently reminded me of the timing and the key elements in the application package. Even with a very tight deadline, I was able to turn around my INSEAD application in less than 2 weeks and CBS and GSB’s application in a week. This all can happen because Melissa got back to me VERY quickly, and don’t waste time on things wouldn’t work in the final product.
Lastly, Melissa would encourage you while giving you very honest feedback when necessary. She makes sure that you stay true to yourself in your essays without having the pressure in trying to write what the adcom wants to read.
I can’t be happier that I got into INSEAD in the last round (even with not competitive scores) and also CBS/LBS with scholarship. Thanks to Melissa that I’m heading to France and Singapore to experience my MBA adventure in a few months!
I really enjoyed working with Brittany. She took a lot of time in helping me prepare for my MIT Sloan MBA interview. Brittany gave great tips and a very thorough critique of my mock MBA interview. You could tell that she had a lot of experience here. She was spot-on and very professional. I ultimately got into the MIT Sloan MBA for Fall 2020. I would recommend working with Brittany for top MBA applications and interviews.
Melissa is very helpful and made sure to guide on every aspect of my application to form a coherent narrative. She was also quite encouraging throughout the process, which made the application journey a very smooth experience!
Working with Sharon has been a really positive experience. She asked good questions during our first trial consultation, got a sense for my professional and leadership experiences, and clearly articulated how she could help me with the application.
The school I was applying to really values a candidate’s journey and aspects of their candidacy beyond academic performance. And Sharon really helped me best represent my leadership experiences and accomplishments. She also knows, having worked with many clients on applications to multiple B-schools, how best to tell one’s story, and which aspects to prioritize shining the light on. I had many leadership experiences in my past, but choosing the right ones and how to articulate their value and impact in the best possible way, was something that Sharon was really helpful with.
She’s also really organized, we had the right cadence to our meetings and we were able to collaborate well offline as well given how technologically able she is.
Lastly, given how stressful the process is, Sharon’s positive attitude was really valuable for me. In moments when I was feeling down or exasperated, she helped lift my spirits up and had some really encouraging things to say about me that led me to submit a strong application.
I cannot say enough good things about the support that Tatiana provided in helping me get into GSB, HBS, and LBS! She challenged me on my thinking and was helpful in constructing my story. She was always available whenever I wanted to jump on a call and was instrumental in helping me get into my dream school. I spoke with 5+ consultants before I chose Fortuna and Tatiana and am so glad that I did. I’d highly recommend Tatiana regardless of your background or the school you’re trying to get into! She’s thoughtful with her feedback, a great listener and instrumental in helping me prepare for my interviews.
I was lucky enough to work with Heidi and transform from being someone unfamiliar with the idea of business school to an admit to both Harvard and Stanford. Heidi was the perfect coach throughout the application process. She asked thought-provoking questions that helped me introspect and develop a compelling narrative. She also is mindful of details and deadlines, and she turned around comments and edits on my drafts in record time.
Heidi is very knowledgable on the nuanced differences between different business schools and the decision criteria of the admissions committees. This helped throughout the process, but it was especially apparent when preparing for interviews. The business school admissions interview is unlike any interview I’ve experienced before, but Heidi’s guidance and mock interview beforehand prepared me well and kept me at ease.
Five stars for Heidi and Fortuna – if you’re about to embark on the application process, you’ll want to have them in your corner.
My MBA journey started with a free consultation call for many international MBA consultants. Being an Indian male engineer with an avg GMAT score, none of the consultants made me feel confident that I could make it to my dream school INSEAD. To many of them, INSEAD was not within reach and I was recommended to have a package for 4-5 schools. And then I had a call with Matt from Fortuna. We had an hour discussion and within minutes, he highlighted the skills that I have to secure a place in Fontainebleau. He was so confident in my profile and was so optimistic towards my dream, not for a second he made me feel that INSEAD was not in reach. That confidence I got from the call with Matt changed my outlook and I was so positive, it made me realize that MBA is way beyond the GMAT test and I could leverage the strong professional experience I have and turn it into an excellent application. Then, I got lined with Melissa, and I can’t say enough about her as a coach. She is an encyclopedia for INSEAD. She knows exactly what the school is looking for. Like Matt, she has focused only on my strengths throughout the process. Though the stories and achievements were mine, the way she helped me display those in the application made a real difference. She is very honest, and at all times she provided her genuine feedback and support. I was intrigued by her knowledge of the INSEAD admission process. She took my mock interview and my actual interview was the replica of the mock. I can say for certain that if INSEAD is your dream school, then Melissa is a no-brainer. Lastly, I would highly recommend Fortuna Admissions to the prospective applicants if you are looking for a consultant to get into your dream school. Fortuna has all the ingredients to make your dream true!
I worked closely with Karla on my MIT application. It was a real pleasure to work with her as she is always enthusiastic and very efficient in her work. Her extensive experience in Admissions team of Top MBAs (M7 and INSEAD) is unvaluable as she really knows the specificites of each school and knows where to focus one’s efforts to build the best application. One more thing that I loved about Karla is that she is very concerned about the success of her clients. The relationship that she builds with her applicants goes beyond the simple relationship applicant/coach. She is a friend. She is always available to answer questions and never hesitate to put in the extra work to ensure that you get into your dream school. Thanks to her, I am now a proud MIT admit!
I had been thinking about applying to a Master’s program but was hesitant after being out of school for 10 years. After connecting with Brittany I decided to go for it! She is extremely responsive and direct. After 1-2 emails, I had a framework for drafting my essay and articulating my goals. Once drafted we went through 1-2 additional iterations where she provided feedback within hours (sometimes less). Brittany was also able to help me with a framework for obtaining strong Letters of Recommendation. Working with someone who knows the ins and outs of the admissions process is extremely valuable, I would highly recommend.
Caroline supported me from the very beginning when I was still preparing my GMAT. After getting a lower-than-average test score (below 700), she still continued his amazing support and did her best to compensate for this weakness in my profile. While I was getting turned down by another consultant who did not want to “touch” my application due to the low GMAT, she highlighted other strengths in my profile that eventually allowed me to gain admission in all the schools that I have applied to (MIT, INSEAD). Caroline’s expertise about MBA admissions and extensive network has been decisive and I don’t regret at all hiring her services. She knew where to focus our efforts (essays and letters of recommendation are too often underestimated) to make my application stand out among others. Thanks to her, I am now joining my dream school!! For anyone considering hiring a consultant, if you can afford it, please do it. This relatively small investment (in comparison to the cost of an MBA) can make a huge difference and you will never be disappointed with Caroline and the whole Fortuna team.
Working with Karla was great. When you first start, you fill out a massive questionnaire for Fortuna. Karla then goes beyond the questionnaire and interviews you to get background and depth so she has a complete picture. In doing so, she elucidated insights that formed the basis of my essays. Karla was very helpful in terms of bouncing ideas off of and helping to get my thoughts succinctly organized.
Karla was also helpful in terms of formulating strategy and giving me advice specific to my situation. Karla does a first-rate job on with all of the services she offers.
I had the pleasure of working with Karla for the interview portion of my application process. I had a wonderful experience despite being in another country and Karla´s flexibility made the coaching process really easygoing. Her help was key to my admission to my dream school, a top 5 program, as she provided unique insights and positive enthusiasm in going over and over my interview speech. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get into their dream school.
HBS admit. Glad I worked with Karla on this!
Heidi played such an instrumental role in my acceptance to the GSB! Originally not planning to work with an admissions consultant, I reached out to Heidi only a month before the deadline. Given that I had already put a lot of thinking into my essay, she worked with me for the min. 5-hour consultation package. Even in the limited time we had together, she made sure we were making the most of the time with focused feedback, and still managed to help me draw out a strong story and narrative I could have never thought of myself. It was clear that she also knew GSB’s perspective with so well – and with her warm empathy and ongoing encouragement, I felt so much more at ease throughout the daunting application process. For anyone — especially anyone applying to GSB — I highly recommend working with Heidi.
Malvina’s help was the largest building block which helped me to pass the HBS R2 interview. With clear and easy-to-follow suggestions from her, my interview preparation quality was improved significantly. 100% recommended!
Catherine worked with me on all aspects of my application: resume, essays, interview prep, and everything in between.
With her extensive admissions background from working at Fuqua, her help was invaluable in helping me get into Darden. She’s everything I needed in a consultant and I would without a doubt not have gotten in without her help. I’m all honesty – you’d be hard-pressed to find a better consultant in your admissions journey. I’d give her more than five stars if I could.
When researching for an MBA admissions consultant, I interviewed with two MBA admissions consultants and decided to go with Fortuna because Fortuna took the time to get to know me, my background and understand the reason why I want to pursue an MBA prior to assigning me with a coach. After the initial chat and based on my background/school of interests, Fortuna connected me with Jenifer.
It was truly a pleasure working with Jenifer and the Fortuna team. Jenifer is a very knowledgeable coach and she genuinely cares about her students. I chose the 2 school package with Fortuna and worked closely with Jenifer on essay writing for two schools and one mock interview. Throughout the essay editing phase, Jenifer provided great feedback and helped me find inspiration to write essays that tell a compelling story to the school admissions. When I was invited to an interview from my target school, Jenifer did a mock interview to help strengthen my interview answers and made me a stronger candidate.
I also worked with a few other Fortuna consultants with resume and resume editing. Jenifer and the Fortuna team made the lengthy MBA application process a memorable and fun experience.
With the team’s help, I was admitted into my target school! Jenifer is an excellent coach, and I highly recommend her and the Fortuna team if you are looking for an MBA admissions consultant.
As a reapplicant, I was trying to figure out how to improve my application. Even though I went to Jenifer late in the application cycle, she helped me through every step in detail. Her consistent guidance and support were amazing. I discovered new angles to my stories through our discussions. Jenifer’s warm and encouraging approach made the application process enjoyable. Throughout the application cycle (including closer to the deadlines), Jenifer remained extremely professional and responsive. When I was traveling to different time zones, Jenifer still managed to find windows to speak with me even on short notice. Her commitment and open communication made working with her very easy.
After securing admission in a top program, as an international student, the pandemic has brought a fair bit of uncertainty. Jenifer has been very helpful in guiding me along even during this time. I discussed changes in my personal situation and the impact on my MBA plans with her. As always, Jenifer has been immensely supportive with advice and with crafting the perfect message to the admission teams.
From the initial call to working with my coach to director reviews, I felt strongly that the entire experience with Fortuna was personalized. From the beginning, my coach Jenifer was keen on building strong connection with me so that she could get to know me professional and personally. The connection made it possible for her to later personalize strategies and guide me to realize my full potential in applications. At every step, she provided me support thoroughly and patiently. No matter what situation I ran into, I felt I could rely on her expert opinions to exam my actions to take. It brought me peace of mind especially as I had an unconventional background with few connections in the B-school cycle. Along the process, I often came to her with my own research and opinions. Her deep insight into business schools and many years in the education industry allowed her to positively challenge my thoughts. Those challenges only made my logic clear and writings truly reflect my characters. Moreover, although she managed multiple clients concurrently, she was able to provide a lot of personal attention to my cases and successfully managed all deadlines. I would credit it to her strong time management skills, clear communication, and genuine care to the people she works with. I interviewed many coaches before I signed with Jenifer, and later confirmed it was a wise decision. All in all, Jenifer is an excellent coach and a good friend. I highly recommend Jenifer to everyone who has the guts to take a shot at his dream schools.
I worked with Jenifer Raver to prepare for my Team-Based Discussion. The 1-hour session I had with Jenifer as she reviewed my mock TBD and provided feedback to prepare me for the main TBD, made me build a very strong connection with her because she’s so caring, patient, and very insightful.
I wish \ worked with the Fortuna admission team from the beginning when I applied to other schools. I believe I would have gotten all because of the kind of personalized support and extreme attention to detail that I had from Jenifer. I couldn’t think of any better person to work with next time than Jenifer and the Fortuna Admissions.
I’m grateful to have had the good fortune of working with Jenifer. She helped turn the tedious application process into a pleasant and rewarding experience and was both a guide and mentor to me.
When I began exploring MBA programs, I was uncertain if my profile would be appealing to the top-ranked schools, and wasn’t sure which parts of my professional and personal background to emphasize. Jenifer was extraordinarily supportive, patient, encouraging, and earnest in her approach, which helped ease my anxieties — a lifesaver for a worrier like myself! Jenifer helped me explore and find hidden strengths throughout all dimensions in my background, which allowed me to craft a cohesive story that was both authentic and showcased my non-traditional sides as unique assets.
Jenifer was also extremely accommodating to my working style and generous with her time. When I needed her to be more hands-on she was there to help, and when I preferred to drive the process she was very understanding and regularly checked-in to see how I was doing, which I really appreciated.
Beyond being happy with my applications and school results of being accepted at a top program, I truly appreciated the opportunity of getting to know and work with Jenifer, as she helped me grow in the process. I highly recommend working with Jenifer and the Fortuna team!
When I was weighing my options on whether or not to get an MBA, I was making really really good money. However, it wasn’t what I ultimately wanted to do long term and knew that I needed to go back to school to ultimately get me into a more challenging and beneficial (long term role). For an MBA to worth my time, I knew I would have to get into a top-ranked program. However, there was one serious problem with doing so: I had a terrible undergraduate GPA – A whopping 2.5. Something I never thought I would be able to overcome. I spoke to numerous admissions consultants through the free consultations they offer who advised me that while it was certainly possible to get into a top 30 program, that I shouldn’t get my hopes up. Queue the scene from Dumb and Dumber where Lloyd Christmas says “So you’re saying there’s a chance” and that’s about how I felt at that moment.
So that’s when the work started: I took an MBA math class to provide an alternative transcript (receiving an A) and I started studying earnestly for the GMAT. Target Test Prep (and Catherine at Fortuna, but more about her later) literally changed my life. While I was nearing the end of my test prep through TTP, Scott with TTP sent out an email recommending Fortuna Admissions consulting. Because I had a very low undergrad GPA (2.5), I knew that I had to hire an admissions consultant to give me a fighting chance at a top program. I reached out to Fortuna and spoke to Catherine Tuttle who gave me a sober but simultaneously encouraging outlook on my admissions chances. I ultimately chose to work with Fortuna and namely Catherine Tuttle because of the overwhelming majority of former admissions officers that are on staff there. I mean it was a serious peace of mind knowing that the former director of admissions at Wharton was reviewing my apps before I clicked submit. I needed real insight and felt the best way to get INSIGHT was through someone who was actually on the INSIDE.
We discussed my GMAT test scores (710, good but not anything remarkable), work experience, etc and she encouraged me to actually aim higher than I had previously thought was possible (based on previous conversations with admissions consultants). Catherine helped me pick the perfect amount of reach, target, and safety schools (ranging from 10th to 25th rankings). She was particularly valuable in helping me navigate the relative strengths of the individual programs for which I was applying and also recommending programs that I had not previously considered. In fact, I will actually be matriculating at a program to which she recommended to me, one that I had not previously considered. Catherine was absolutely instrumental in helping me craft my “story” as well as the navigating minutia of MBA admissions such as networking with students, reviewing essays, picking recommenders, etc. Because of Catherine’s help, I will be matriculating at a top 20 program this fall, something I never thought was possible 12 months ago.
So if your profile doesn’t fit the box for the program you are shooting for, I highly highly highly recommend Fortuna. Yes, admissions consultants can be expensive, but you get what you pay for. However, in the scheme of things, that cost is nothing compared to the opportunity cost of missing work for 2 years and the cost of tuition. You might as well have peace of mind knowing that you are going to the best school possible. Ultimately, I was admitted to a top 20 program and multiple top 25’s (with scholarship). My story is an admissions miracle that I know for a fact that would have not happened without Catherine Tuttle’s help.
I had a fantastic time working with Taniel, seeking his advice on both my MBA/MPP applications. While Taniel is an amazing consultant overall, there are three things that really stood out for me:
1) His comments and advice are very spot-on, where he is able to point out areas for improvement immediately to make the story a lot more tied together
2) He graduated not too long ago so he is close to a lot of ongoing developments in the school and knows exactly what one should add to his/her application to make it as relevant as possible
3) He truly values your development, even if that means putting in more time than was initially discussed. E.g. sometimes when our chat went over time he’d still continue if something we were discussing wasn’t completed. He even just chatted with me as a friend more about his experience recently after I was admitted.
I’d highly recommend everyone to reach out to Taniel! He was crucial in my applications’ success.
I had the pleasure of working with Karen for my master’s in finance application. She is very knowledgeable about the application process and provided me with invaluable insight. I would strongly recommend her to anyone in the future
I worked with Jenifer Raver and the experience was truly rewarding. I got into one of the T10 with a scholarship and will be heading there this fall. I remember it was last year this time when I had the first meeting with Jenifer. Having already talked to many consultants who tend to sell you the same pitch and rosy prospect, Jenifer really stood out for her tremendous caring for clients. It was from that meeting I made the decision to work with her and I couldn’t be happier. The application process can be a rocky road filled with surprise (both good and bad). At the time I was the only one applying for an MBA at my office and it felt like I was on a solo mission in a vacuum. Fortunately, the collaboration with Jenifer mitigated that. I really appreciate her being responsive whenever I need her to discuss an idea or the draft, as well as checking on me if not hearing back from me for a while. Sometimes I’m sidetracked because of other things and it’s always helpful to have her reminding me of the timeline. Her background as a Wharton grad and admission officer also allows her to offer insight from the perspective that I sometimes couldn’t think of, helping me putting the narrative into perspective and pushing me to think about what I was really trying to convey to the admission committee. Her understanding of top MBA program and experience from working with clients from different backgrounds gave her the knowledge and competence to discuss each program’s unique advantages and suitability very clearly. I would recommend Jenifer to anyone who is considering working with an admission consultant and believe her insight would help applicants fulfill the potential to the greatest extent.
I worked with Jenifer to prepare for my Team-Based Discussion. Since I came from a non-business background (military), the Fortuna Admissions team helped me showcase my strengths while also accentuating my personality. After the mock interview and debrief, I grew more comfortable influencing fellow applicants, whom had widely different personalities and backgrounds that I was used to — a skill to improve upon for any applicant! My performance during game day rounded out my application and ultimately helped me secure a generous merit fellowship. Jenifer was insightful, patient, and empowering. Overall, working with the Fortuna Admissions team will give you invaluable glimpse into what it could feel like during game day. Take my advice, you won’t regret it.
I have an extremely busy workload and was apprehensive about the process of applying to a top EMBA program. From the beginning till the end, Melissa provided the sort of steady guidance that I needed to get across the finishing line. In addition to being thoughtful, responsive and encouraging, she was extremely patient with all the (internal) deadlines that I kept missing! She understood my strengths and worked with me to bring them out in my resume and essays. More than anything, she gave me the confidence to stay focused and keep going. In the end, I was admitted to a top global EMBA program with a scholarship. I cannot recommend Melissa highly enough.
Brittany was very friendly and informative from day one. She knew exactly what I needed and was able to help me at every step of the way. I applied to one school and was accepted. She is a very good communicator and was able to help me work through things as required. I could not recommend her more!
I have just been admitted to my top three schools (including my dream school Stanford GSB)!!!
As an international candidate with an untraditional background, I was not sure where to start or how to move throughout the MBA application process. On top of that, I did not have a lot of time as I started working on my application only two months before the deadlines. However, I was fortunate enough to have Heidi on my side.
Heid was super knowledgeable about every element in this process, to the smallest details in every school I planned to apply. Sometimes it seemed as if Heidi completed her MBA at all M7 schools (and not only at Stanford GSB). Heidi’s experience, down to earth well-structured approach, and crazy response times (less than 24 hours, even on holidays!) made the difference.
In addition to being a great admission consultant, Heidi is a great interviewer. As a nonnative English speaker, I was stressed by having to interview in English. However, Heidi was able to provide some great feedback and tips throughout the mock interviews that we conducted. She even introduced me to her colleagues in Fortuna, who gave me extra practice and insight.
As a closing mark, I have to say that Heidi is not only super professional but also the nicest person. Applying to business schools can be an intense and stressful process, yet when you have Heidi on your side, it gets much better.
At first, I reached out to Stacy Blackman consulting for a free consult. My test scores were borderline, and I didn’t come from a traditional background or company that produces many MBAs to top b-schools. I specifically asked the consultant about one top-5 program, in particular, hoping they could help “handicap” my odds at acceptance. Sadly, I was told point-blank I’d be better off looking at tier 2 schools. That experience left me feeling dejected, questioning whether I even had a shot at my dream school…
Enter Fortuna! My initial discussion with Matt Symonds was slated to take an hour but we ended up chatting for around two! He assured me that not only did I have a shot, but that I was a strong candidate. I could tell that to Fortuna, I wasn’t just a set of numbers to be plugged into some arbitrary formula that would decide whether or not I was a good candidate, but rather a unique individual with a story to tell.
Matt lined me up w/ Melissa, and I can’t say enough about her as a coach. Melissa is a Rockstar! She has this amazing ability to be brutally open and honest in a way that helps you peel back the inconsequential and focus on your core strengths and abilities, highlighting who you truly are. She was extremely thorough in gathering all the data and helped me realize that specific experiences and aspects of my background that I thought were insignificant would really resonate with the adcom. In all honesty, if you don’t end up hiring her as an admissions consultant consider hiring her as a life coach, she’s that good!
Long story short, I was accepted to my dream program, and I’m positive that Melissa and the team at Fortuna played an integral part in making it happen!
I’ve had an amazing experience with Brittany and would 100% recommend anyone to work with her. I applied to HBS and Wharton, got interviews with both, and ultimately got accepted to one. This is how I think she helped me succeed:
– Admissions experience: Brittany helped me find the best way to tell my unique story to make a strong case for my application. Knowing the ins and outs of admissions at the various schools, she also helped me tailor my essays and broader applications to each program
– Work method: given the tight deadline and very limited time due to my working hours, Brittany suggested an efficient plan that ultimately helped me meet all deadlines
– Availability: Brittany has always been very responsive and even understanding with the sometimes-difficult timelines imposed by my work schedule (I work in IB)
– Helpfulness: even after my applications were submitted, she helped me prepare for my interviews, provided advice, and even helped me negotiate a scholarship!
Last but not least, Brittany is a very nice and sociable person—this very demanding application process wouldn’t have been as fun without her
I was lucky enough to work with Karen during my MBA applications. I’m happy to say I was admitted to both programs, in great part thanks to Karen’s support and excellent advice. Her thorough knowledge of the application process helped me define how best to showcase my story, without losing the authenticity and genuineness of what I was trying to convey. Equally, she was a constant support during the entire process, always available for any questions that arose when I was writing my essays and ready to give me profound feedback – even more remarkable considering our time differences! Her guidance and tips when practicing for interviews were also crucial in helping me ace that part of the application process. I have nothing but praise for her and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to put forward a stellar application.
I would highly recommend Michel for anyone who is seeking advice on the MBA application. Michel has proven experience with the MBA process and insights from her work in the industry, which uniquely positioned her to advise her client effectively. She was incredibly thoughtful and gracious throughout the process. She is willing to go above and beyond to help her client. She is super accessible even during early morning her time. I can’t thank her enough and highly recommend you consider working with her.
