Hi, it’s Nisha from mbaMission. You’ve got an interesting and high-impact role in technical sales, within which you’ve made great progression (and as a young minority, as you’ve noted). I think your solid GRE score does help offset your lower GPA, and I like your track record of extracurricular involvement as well.
As competitive as the schools you’re targeting are, I think you’ll be a solid contender if you: 1. fully communicate your professional and personal impact 2. get excellent recommendations that attest to your performance and potential, especially vs. peers. 2. Dig into the motivations behind your career goals (why do you want to enter consulting, based on the experiences and observations you’ve had so far?) and 4. make a …

Best of luck!
Hi Mr. Brazilian Sales Guy, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. Congrats on your early successes in your sales career – being a younger member of the team. Hi Mr. Brazilian Sales Guy, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. Congrats on your early successes in your sales career – being a younger member of the team. The skills you’ve learned across sales and account management – and now product development will be welcomed contributions to an MBA class. Also looks like you’ve got solid leadership experience in the community. As you are thinking about your MBA story – I’d encourage you to go deeper on your goals. While consulting may be a great route for you – you want to make sure that your authentic story helps you stand out among other Latin American engineers. What can you contribute from your product development perspective? And longer term, do you want to stay in big industry – working with larger companies? Or transition to something more medium term? Stay in the US/Europe or go back to Brazil. It’s these details that can bring your story to life. While you GPA is a bit low, your GRE (assuming the quant is solid) will help show your ability to handle the classwork. I think Ross will like your engineering background with product development experience. Overall, I think you have slightly higher than average chances. From a consulting perspective – I really like that Darden and IESE are on your list too. Best of luck!
