Hi Mr. Chartered Accountant, Thanks for posting your profile. This is Debbie Choy, Senior Consultant at mbaMission. I like that you have robust work experience – in leading teams and doing well at a top firm. Your GMAT is also very solid, although your GPA (if converted correctly) is below the average at CBS. Typically, you would not have to convert your GPA to the US scale on your application form. You would simply submit your GPA as reported on your transcript. Most business schools receive enough international applicants that they can calibrate accordingly. Of course, if there were any circumstances that pulled down your GPA, consider explaining this to the Admissions Committee (AdCom). Separately, consider fleshing out your career goals more to explain why you need an MBA to reach these goals, especially given your successful professional track record to date. Overall, I think you have a lot going for you. I’m happy to discuss other specific questions about your profile in a 1:1 consult. Wishing you the best in your MBA journey!
Hi Mr. Chartered Accountant, Melisa here from Status Admissions. Looks like you’ve got a lot that you can add a class from a Finance side – this will be valued by Columbia. Your challenge is going to be standing out with a unique story among the plentiful finance types. And while you GMAT is a bit above Columbia’s average of 727, your GPA (you may want to double check your conversion) is far below the average of 3.6. While your goals of consulting make sense – they are very common goals. And do you want to build your sustainable business model as a consultant? Or within your own or another company long term. I know there is limited space to share here, but your stated …

I know there is limited space to share here, but your stated goals are not showing who you are and why this is important to you. You will need to think a bit deeper about your goals – why sustainability? What personal experiences have you had that has interested you in sustainability? It will be essential for you to differentiate yourself through your essays – make admissions choose you over other finance applicants. What will you be involved with at school? What have you been involved with in the past – to show your pattern of involvement – during university or while working? If you are set on Columbia – then apply ED which may help you get in earlier than others. I think your chances are similar at Kellogg and LBS. You would be more competitive because of your comparative stats at Cornell. Best of luck!
