You are not getting into Harvard Business School with a 2.7 GPA from a school that is ranked above 1,000 by the World University Rankings. It’s important to make clear that HBS is an elitist institution and all our research shows that candidates who have earned their undergraduate degrees from the very top universities–the Ivy League, the public Ivies, and the best global universities like Oxford and Cambridge–are clearly preferred. The fact that you have a sub-3.0 GPA and want to get into a school where the class average GPA is 3.7 puts you at a very big disadvantage that a 730 GMAT (the median at Harvard) will not offset. If you want to be competitive as an MBA applicant, you have to lower your expectations and apply to a completely different set of business schools. Sorry to have to say this because you have been successful since graduating from college and clearly have a lot to offer. But the reality of the elite MBA game is that you are playing with one hand tied behind your back.
