I want to gain a solid, formal business knowledge foundation that I can apply to my career. I have appreciated my experience early on, but there are still holistic knowledge gaps that I want to fill. I aspire to be an entrepreneur, too. Wherever I go, I want to gain the tools to build confidence to start my own company.

Hi Mr. Startup Supply Chain Manager, Congrats on being part of an acquisition at work! This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission. I think you have a lot of strengths in your profile – solid work experience especially at a successful start-up, active participation in athletics. It sounds like you made quite a move from Detroit to NYC. I’m also happy to hear you are scoring well in your practice GMAT tests. If you can get a GMAT score that’s close to the average at Kellogg (around 720), that will make your profile more competitive. The one thing that the Admissions Committee will want to see is demonstrated leadership – during college, at work, and outside work. One area to consider beefing up is your current community …
One area to consider beefing up is your current community leadership activities. Are you involved with any community organizations right now? If not, it’s not too late to get engaged. If you are already volunteering, consider stepping up your engagement a bit more to demonstrate leadership.
