The fully online MBA from the University of Illinois’ Gies College of Business is best known for its flexibility, affordability, and innovative approach to online education. The program was awarded the 2022 MBA Program of the Year by Poets&Quants.
Launched in 2016, the iMBA was designed from the bottom up to model a new way of delivering business education. The B-School says that over 300 hours of behind-the-scenes planning go into each course, designing an experience that’s both engaging and rigorous. The iMBA has no travel requirements and is fully online.
Courses are eight weeks long, and the program kicks off in January, March, May, August, or October. The program is designed to be “go at your own pace” and can be completed in anywhere from 24-60 months. No GMAT or GRE is required to be accepted into the program.
Live session courses, taught by top University of Illinois faculty contain relevant content that Gies MBAs can apply to their jobs the next day. There are plenty of opportunities to engage with CEOs, lawyers, doctors, small business owners, and aspiring professionals from all walks of life.
MBAs can customize their degree by choosing from five specializations in Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship & Strategic Innovation, Global Challenges in Business, Business Analytics, and Mergers and Acquisitions.
“I use what I learn in my iMBA courses every day in my work which gives me a chance to showcase my skills. As a result, I’ve been promoted to Director of Technology since I started the Gies iMBA,” says past MBA Krishnan Kannan in a YouTube video on Gies’s website.
