Like many other programs, students at Lindner College of Business can choose to join in study abroad programs available, but the school has gone one step further to institute Global Core Requirement as one of the core courses, to prepare graduates to work internationally, or with international colleagues locally. Students must choose a course with the word “international” or “global” in the title and popular choices include International Competitiveness, Global Entrepreneurship, and Managing Across Cultures.
The online MBA program is relatively new, having started just in 2013, and has so far built an alumni of 156 graduates. The school currently has 264 students enrolled, and accepts applications six times a year, for classes that begin in August, October, January, March, May, and June. Last year, 120 students were admitted to the program, which has a 66% acceptance rate.
ONLY 7% OF APPLICANTS SUBMITTED TEST SCORES Students can either submit their GMAT or GRE test scores with their admissions applications, and the average GMAT school of students entering in the 2017 – 2018 academic year was 643, though 93% of students who entered had their test scores waived because they met the work experience or previous education requirements. Test scores can be waived if the individual has at least three years of relevant professional experience and a 3.0 GPA from a completed Bachelor’s degree program, have seven or more years of relevant professional experience that shows advancement, graduated from a University of Cincinnati degree program less than three years ago with a 3.5 GPA or better, have an active CPA certification or terminal degree such as a PhD, an MD, or a JD. Students who had previously already completed a graduate degree in a relevant field may also apply for the waiver.
The school reported that 19% of applicants who did not submit a test score had ten or more years of work experience, and the admitted students had an average undergraduate GPA of 3.55.
Students applying also need to submit two letters of recommendations, a resume, school transcript, and a statement of purpose.
