The program offers four specialty tracks in Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing & Management, and Biotechnology. Program Format and Schedule

The M.S. in Commerce program is 40 credit hours and full-time on Grounds in Charlottesville, VA. In August, the program starts with the Integrated Core Experience (ICE), which provides an enterprise-wide view of business. In addition to course content in ICE, integrative projects and case studies help students understand real-world business problems and their solutions. In the spring term, students gain deep knowledge and expertise in one of four specialty tracks: Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing & Management, or Biotechnology.

The program concludes with the required Global Immersion Experience (GIE), during which students will learn firsthand the complexities of global business in dynamic regions worldwide. In May, the GIE begins with a one-week residency in Charlottesville that provides an in-depth overview of the designated region. After the residency, students travel overseas on an intensive three-week schedule of academic, company, and cultural visits. Locations change yearly, with each global course typically visiting three to four major cities per region over three weeks.
