Professor Markus Baer’s research examines how management coaxes creativity and innovation out of organizations. Baer investigates such factors as organizational stimuli that produce creativity, the process of innovation, and acts associated with rewarding creativity. Prior to earning his doctorate, Professor Baer worked in the German automotive industry and, as a member of the founding team of a university-affiliated start-up venture, consulted for firms in Europe and Asia. In 2009, Professor Baer was honored with the Olin Business School’s Marcile and James Reid Award for Scholarly Excellence.
