Ivey Dean Expects School’s No. 1 Ranking To Increase Applicants

The Ivey dean cites INSEAD, London Business School, the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, and Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management as competitors for prospective students from Europe or the U.S. who are interested in studying internationally. “We track the (students) we lose and most often it’s to a school like INSEAD or London Business School,” Kennedy says.

Kennedy expects Ivey to reap benefits from the 2014 BusinessWeek rankings, with an “uptick” in applications that will probably increase after a year or so when many students now pondering business school education start applying.

“My guess is that demand will go up some, which will allow us to be even more selective,” Kennedy says. “That’s a nice problem to have.”
