Invest in the appropriate resources you need to succeed at either test. Whether it is spending ample study time or making use of a helpful prep class, admittance into your desired program is well worth it. Based on your own selection process, what advice do you have for applicants who are trying to draw up a list of target schools to which to apply? Dig deeply into the differentiating factors of each school. Carefully consider what you are looking to get out of the program and how this experience will further your career. Elements such as focused industries, teaching style, campus culture, and internship opportunities are among some customizable points you should evaluate to determine an ultimate fit with your goals. Speaking candidly with school alumni will go a long way in fleshing out those intangible areas such as campus culture. What advice do you have for applicants in actually applying to a school, writing essays, doing admission interviews, and getting recommenders to write letters on your behalf? Perform a similar in-depth analysis of yourself as a candidate, as with your list of target schools. Your application should tell a thorough and digestible story of who you are that stands out among the rest. The first step to preparing your materials is to find the unique strengths you bring to the table. Then, shape your essays and interview preparation to highlight these features. Speak to your recommenders regarding instances when you exemplified those traits as go-to points to possibly include in their letters. What led you to choose this program for your full-time MBA? I chose the IE IMBA because I was looking for a one-year intensive academic experience that would allow me to return to the working field in a shorter period of time. I also wanted to find a program that emphasizes international and diversity in both industry reach and the classroom. Finally, the largest deciding factor for choosing this program is the emphasis on social enterprise fostered not only in the program but also in the entire school. As this is the industry I’m keen to explore, I’m greatly looking forward to making the most of the school’s resources and the venture lab period working within this area. The combination of all these factors made my choice a very easy one. What would you ultimately like to achieve before you graduate? My plan is to delve into social enterprise theories and their practical applications throughout the world. I would also love to get involved with organizations such as Emzingo to further my knowledge in this field.
