Hometown: Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India Fun Fact About Yourself: While performing at a rock concert with thousands in the audience, our sound was cut in the middle of our first song because we had wasted too much time on sound check, exceeding our 5min stage time limit. No other event has been more embarrassing for me. Undergraduate School and Major: Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering Employers and Job Titles Since Graduation: Infosys Limited: 2009-2013: Technology Analyst – Berlin, Germany Senior Systems Engineer – Pune, India Systems Engineer – Pune, India BMG Rights Management GmbH: 2014 – 2017 Senior Manager, IT Systems – Berlin Germany Manager, IT Systems – Berlin Germany Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: Being offered the global technology operations lead role at BMG, which meant I would be leading a cross continental team of 20+ engineers, analysts and software engineers on a multimillion outsourced operations project. Looking back on your experience, what one piece of advice would you give to future business school applicants? My advice on writing essays – Start early, find your true inner self, and identify aspects of your unique identity and real passions through putting yourself in the shoes of those who you want to become. Know yourself in and out because that will contribute to essay writing, interviews and the overall MBA learning experience. What was the key factor that led you to choose this program for your full-time MBA and why was it so important to you? Leadership and soft skill development – I find that any world class quality academic program can significantly help build analytical and theoretical abilities which participants sometimes tend to forget a few years post-graduation especially when those skills are not called for in day-to-day responsibilities. What sets IMD apart is its focus on leadership development, a skill tightly coupled with self-awareness that can never become obsolete and will be called upon each day post-graduation, no matter what job function or industry I chose. What would success look like to you after your first year of business school? Success to me would be the knowledge that I have overcome my pre-MBA personality inhibitions, improved my global view, and acquired the strength to pursue the career switch I was incapable of achieving pre-MBA. I have achieved not only my short-term goals, but have also equipped myself with the skills and wisdom towards building a fulfilling and rewarding life both professionally and personally.
