At the moment, I’m learning intermediate French. This year, I aim to become proficient in French. Undergraduate School and Major: Institute of Chartered Accountants of India – Chartered Accountancy course University of Mumbai – Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Accounting and Auditing) Most Recent Employer and Job Title: LTIMindtree Limited, Senior Executive Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of IIM Kozhikode’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? Having a finance and IT services background and six years of work experience, I have gained considerable functional and technical expertise. Hence, an MBA at this point in my career was to expand my knowledge and evolve as a leader. Incorporating reflection and Eastern values into the MBA degree of IIM-K set it apart from the rest of the MBA programmes. Electives offered to us, such as Narratives of Wisdom’ and ‘Workplace Wellbeing through Karma Yoga, indicate this holistic learning experience. These are essential to our development as future leaders in an ever-changing society. The constant focus on delivering value additions, chasing timelines, and upskilling ignores the value of being happy, resilient, and satisfied in the workplace. The programme’s diverse focus allows us to align our thoughts to become empathetic, multidimensional leaders. What has been your favorite course or extracurricular activity at IIM Kozhikode? What has been the most important lesson that you have learned from it? The Managing People and Performance in Organizations course from Term I is my favorite course at IIM Kozhikode. It has helped me understand many aspects of human behavior. It has made me look back at all the significant conversations I have had in my personal and professional life in the past decade. Through the case discussions, Thought Leadership project, and Psychometric Test part of its pedagogy, I became aware of my behavioral strengths, and how to understand the strengths of stakeholders I will meet in my future professional career. As an accountant and ERP consultant, I had never explored this aspect of leadership and people management before. Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far: After enrolling in the PGP-BL programme, being chosen to serve on the Placement Committee was a significant accomplishment. It was a challenging endeavor that required me to go through several selection rounds, work through the night to finish tasks under strict deadlines, create a soapbox, pitch ourselves for votes before the cohort, and finally complete the personal interview. By making the final cut, I learned the value of perseverance, consistency, and giving my all to the task at hand. The cohort’s confidence in me through their votes increases the responsibility of being a member of the Placement Committee. This experience will help me lead my professional responsibilities more effectively. What has been your most memorable experience at IIM Kozhikode? Why was it so special? The most memorable experience was witnessing the first rain shower at our ‘God’s Own Kampus.’ The rains exemplified the picturesque beauty of this campus, and I could relate to all the posts and videos on Youtube and websites describing the IIM Kozhikode campus as the most beautiful one. Being from the hustle and bustle of my Mumbai life, this campus in Kozhikode highlights such a contrast, and the fact that I am happy and satisfied here is a learning lesson of the crucial things in life. What led you to pursue an MBA at this point, and what do you hope to do after graduation? While working for the past six years, I realized the importance of well-rounded exposure to the many facets of corporate life. In my professional education, pedagogy involved something other than what would prepare me for a management position. Hence, the decision to pursue an MBA at IIM-K was driven by my desire to expand my horizons and gain exposure to different industries, peer learning, and methodologies necessary to succeed in the VUCA world. After graduation, I want to apply all the learnings I attained this year and contribute more effectively to my organization. I also look forward to achieving my professional goals faster and being more satisfied with my results. DON’T MISS: MEET IIM KOZHIKODE’S PGP-BL CLASS OF 2024
