What do they teach and how will they be difference-makers in your MBA program? Dasmohapatra: “Here are two who’ve distinguished themselves: Kerrie Carfagno, associate teaching professor of management, will be teaching courses on environmental sustainability, business, communications, and strategy. Her research, which intersects environmental science and business, is crucial to addressing contemporary global challenges. She is also the program director of Georgetown’s M.S. in Environment and Sustainability Management degree, which is a joint degree between Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and the Earth Commons Institute. This program fosters positive change by integrating science and business to achieve global sustainability goals while creating business value. Her teaching and research will significantly enhance McDonough’s Business of Sustainability Initiative, which is one of our “fields of the future” to address issues at the intersection of business and other disciplines. Justin Tosi, associate professor of strategy, economics, ethics, and public policy, explores research on social, political, legal, and moral philosophy, with a particular focus on the ethics of public discourse, social morality, and special obligations. As the lead faculty member for the Ethical Leadership course — a core requirement for all MBA students — Professor Tosi brings a comprehensive, practical approach to addressing ethical dilemmas in business decision-making. This course, which includes a team-based Ethics Project with real-world impacts, strengthens the MBA program and McDonough’s core values of principled leadership and ethical business practices. His work will prepare students to navigate complex moral landscapes both in their personal and professional lives.” P&Q: What types of support does your career center and alumni provide to MBA students? How have these services and relationship made your graduates more competitive in the marketplace? Dasmohapatra: “All McDonough MBA students are invited to participate in a career course prior to orientation to set them up for professional success during and after their time in the program. The course content is thoughtfully curated to train and empower students to define their path, craft their brand, tell their story, own their strategy, ace their interviews, and evaluate their offers. The goal at the end of the career course is for each individual to have a unique career portfolio to establish their professional footing as they enter the MBA program from a position of strength as they advance and pivot their careers over the course of the program. Throughout the MBA program, students have access to professionally-trained career coaches and industry practice leads, as well as trained career peer advisors, for individual and group career coaching. Students also can leverage alumni and employers through mentoring programs, career education days, career treks, coffee chats, national diversity career conferences, and recruitment events where they are exposed to various companies and geographies. As one recent MBA student shared in reflection, students who “engage in the process are well-positioned for professional success” as they graduate and navigate the global business world. Our graduates’ success is measured in many ways, as evidenced by the diversity in their career paths in our employment reports and entrepreneurial initiatives.” Click on the links below for in-depth student profiles from the MBA Class of 2026.
