When you think of Notre Dame, what are the first things that come to mind? How have your experiences with the Mendoza program thus far reinforced or upended these early impressions? The first thing that comes to mind for me when thinking of Notre Dame is its miraculous Catholic legacy. After arriving on campus, I learned that Notre Dame began as a humble missionary outpost in the Indiana wilderness, and Father Sorin’s prescient words at the time continue to amaze me: “This college will be one of the most powerful means of doing good in this country.” From attending mass with my MBA peers to praising Our Lady at the end of every football game, the Catholic experiences of daily life here have been incredible blessings.

Aside from your classmates, what was the one key part of the Mendoza MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? Notre Dame’s combination of experiential learning and service stood out to me during the application process. I am looking forward to the opportunity to assist with critical business projects in developing nations, especially in Asia and the Middle East.

What course, club or activity have you enjoyed the most so far at Mendoza? My favorite course so far has to be Introduction to Finance. Professor Battalio has a certain way with words, and his passion for the subject is unmatched. As far as activities, there is simply no way to adequately describe the mystical experience that is a Notre Dame home football game.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: My biggest career accomplishment would have to be successfully overseeing the production of a firm-wide internal data visualization tool during my time at Analysis Group. It was incredibly rewarding to see hours of hard work from myself and colleagues culminate with a tool that is now part of standard practice at the firm.

Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far? This would have to be winning the class section competition for best response to a PR crisis in Introduction to Marketing with my classmate Shahla. It was fun to brainstorm different approaches to an attack on our mock pizza brand’s image, and we were glad to have garnered support for our solution.

Mendoza is known as a purpose-driven MBA program that asks students to “Grow the good in business.” What is your mission and how has Mendoza been helping you realize it? The particular steps of my journey are still in the making. Overall, my long-term goal in the business world is to help organizations use technology as a force for good. From implementing technical solutions for the American Legion in New Hampshire to gaining valuable advice for my mobile trivia startup at the Notre Dame IDEA Center, I am grateful for the opportunities I have had thus far and am excited for what the future holds.

What has been your best memory as an MBA so far? My best memory so far was attending mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart with my dad during Welcome Weekend. Aside from witnessing the beauty of the Church and the Dome for the first time, it was extra special to do it all with my dad, who sacrificed so much for me to experience the innumerable blessings this country has to offer. Looking back at that memory, I feel a great duty to offer myself back in whatever vocation God is calling me toward, here and beyond.
