What makes Austin such a great place to earn an MBA? The community and energy in the city. The vibrant business ecosystem here supports everything from tech giants to mom-and-pop startups. Austin is a major entrepreneurial hub with local organizations like Austin Technology Incubator and Capital Factory that support the growth of new ventures and facilitate relationships with like-minded individuals. Austin also has one of the fastest growing GDPs in the country, fueled by investment technology, AI, and manufacturing: areas where I’m particularly drawn. To me, Austin is a place where bold ideas can become reality. It just felt like a natural fit for me to launch the next chapter of my career.

Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of Texas McCombs’ MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? The Fellowship programs, professors, and experiential learning opportunities. I believe UT boasts one of the strongest value propositions of any business school in the world. The real-world experiences and connections you can gain from these hands-on programs are truly amazing. When researching other business programs versus McCombs, I was shocked at how much time, detail, and care goes into the overall student experience here. This resonated with me deeply because I wanted to attend a program that offered resources tailored to my specific industry and functional interests. McCombs has gone over and above what I was expecting to find.

What course, club or activity excites you the most at Texas McCombs? Valuation (Fin-286) taught by Professor Xavier Sztejnburg. He has decades of experience in the Private Equity and Management Consulting industries, and he builds his class around real-world scenarios instead of just theory. I’m excited to learn the fundamentals of how to value businesses and what investors seek. I’m also very interested in the McCombs Ambassador Committee (MAC), which is a select team of students chosen to serve as representatives of the MBA admissions team. The McCombs alumni and second-year students I connected with during my application process were incredibly impactful in my decision to attend, so I feel strongly about paying that support forward to the next generation of Longhorns!

When you think of the University of Texas, what word comes to mind? Why? Legacy. So many exceptionally talented individuals have walked this campus, and my hope is that I can also leave my mark here for my family and impact those that come after me. I believe the McCombs community encourages everyone to be the best version of themselves. It’s challenging, but worth it.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: Choosing to bet on myself early in my career. In 2023, I left my corporate job to pursue my interests as an independent data consultant. This decision pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me the true value of hard work, consistency, and resilience. Over the years, I’ve developed new skillsets and built meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues across several industries. I led transformational projects that integrated disparate data systems, delivered actionable insights, and directly influenced strategic business decisions. These experiences reassured me that taking calculated risks (like going to business school) can pay off as long as you believe in yourself and stick to the path.

Looking ahead two years, what would make your MBA experience at McCombs successful? A successful MBA experience for me means sharpening my analytical toolkit and building the leadership skills I need to create positive change in society. I’m deeply passionate about helping others, investing in my personal growth, and building strong communities along the way. McCombs offers me the perfect playground over the next two years to challenge myself and lay the foundation for the next phase of my career.
