Out Of Africa: Applying To B-School From Nigeria

Samuel Adeoye is a civil engineer specializing in transportation in Nigeria for a multinational consulting firm. He’s also a natural entrepreneur who would someday like to launch a tech startup to help people in densely populated cities in Nigeria find homes closer to work to eliminate traffic congestion in his home country.

Adeoye earned first class grades in civil engineering at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria and achieved a 159 on the verbal GRE and a 162 on the quant. Among other things, he helps coordinate the League of Ordinary Nigerians, a group of young professionals who want to have a decisive role in building a truly democratic and inclusive Nigeria. He has also founded Fodlobe, a digital podcasting platform that has been able to reach 1,000 listeners within six months of launch.

In this Friday’s With Sandy episode, HBSGuru Founder Sandy Kreisberg assesses his chances of admission to Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan, Michigan Ross, Maryland Smith, and Toronto Rotman.
