Hi Mr. Low Score GMAT! This is Kate Richardson, Senior Admissions Consultant. Obviously given your profile name you are aware of the main challenge in your profile. I think a 660 could be a tough sell for Columbia, but you have a fantastic undergrad GPA and really strong work experience too. Depending on where you are at in the testing process, I would consider switching gears and trying the GRE or EA instead (though I realize it’s not the easiest switch to make, you could find another test suits you better and Columbia may be more flexible on accepting a wider range of scores on the GRE or EA). Otherwise, apply early decision to show your commitment to Columbia. Do lots of networking with students/alumni …

Hi Mr. Low Score GMAT—this is Donna Bauman with Stratus Admissions weighing in on your profile. Keep in mind that there are very few perfect candidates—so while you may be under the bar on GMAT, you look to be over the bar on some great work experience. Your job is to do a great job on your essays and overall application. Keep reaching out to students and to the admissions team through attending virtual events so that you can excel in your knowledge of CBS and how they can help you reach your goals. Normally I would say the early start for applying to CBS is in the summer but CBS is still taking applications through the summer so you might be able to apply …

Normally I would say the early start for applying to CBS is in the summer but CBS is still taking applications through the summer so you might be able to apply now. CBS does take the EA—so taking that test might help you since the GMAT is not a strength. Another option is to consider the J Term as you may not need an internship or you may be able to complete an internship during the academic year. I have seen a lot of my clients get accepted to programs where their GMAT was below the school’s average. This is only one piece in the puzzle! Please reach out to let me know if you have any other questions and best wishes.
