Hi, Mr. Multilingual, Julie-Anne Heafey from mbaMission here. You have already done very well for yourself, making it to the Sorbonne and Bocconi from what sounds like challenging circumstances and obtaining two likely-coveted internships in banking in France. I like your background very much, but like the other expert, I’m not totally clear on what we’re looking at here – are you a deferred enrollment candidate? What exactly is your mission/plan in bringing banking to Rwanda, and how would Stanford help? Is this a tech or social impact related project? What do you mean by “banking” here? Do you have plans for post-Bocconi and how do they fit in? I think if you can convey passion and a logical story …

I think if you can convey passion and a logical story that demonstrates your fit for the program and show some of the strengths that are probably in your background that led to your current position, then you have a better-than-average chance in my opinion….I’m going to give you a 20% chance, which is about 3x the standard admission rate for Stanford. Best of luck!!!
Mr. Multilingual – Thanks for posting your profile. Susan here from Stratus.
Since you have just two 3-month stints of work and are 22, I suspect that you are wrapping up at Bocconi and will be applying for deferred enrollment at Stanford and the other programs you list. My assessment assumes that this is the case.
I’m seeing glimpses of what could be a great narrative about overcoming the odds in a family that was struggling to get by. I really like that you are using your skills and knowledge to help others. Stanford GSB looks to accept candidates who will change lives, change organizations and change the world. You are already changing lives. If you can show adcom how an MBA from the GSB will set …
