What’s not to like about your profile? To be honest, I can’t see anything that HBS won’t like about you, from your self-managed switch from microbiology and biotech project work in France to working in a coveted role for an MBB firm, and on to your varied and diverse extracurricular pot. If you are McKinsey-sponsored for your MBA study, then the firm obviously values you and wants you back; this immediately slots you higher up the admissions funnel as your schools can see you’re demonstrating a high value-add professionally. The French angle is also great and shows your curiosity for exploring other cultures, your stats are excellent, and you have exactly the right background to make a strong contribution to the Biotech/Biopharma practice area. An MBA seems the right route to give you the business skills to support your undergraduate and really, I can’t see either HBS or Stanford giving you other than a warm welcome. In fact, if you put in a really stellar and authentic application, they might even end up fighting over you. Good luck!
