Hi, it’s Nisha from mbaMission. What a fascinating and impactful space you work in! It’s very clear that you’re passionate about making a meaningful difference in healthcare. Moreover, I love how you’ve demonstrated leadership by establishing a program to help your fellow employees grow and by nurturing the future generation of STEM leaders through your volunteerism in the high school robotics program. Your academics are also strong, with great grades at prominent institutions and a solid GMAT score. The one thing I’d like to understand more (and that the admissions committees will as well) is why you feel you need an MBA to become a leader in the healthcare product innovation space – what type of role are you seeking, is it …
Hi, it’s Nisha from mbaMission. The one thing I’d like to understand more (and that the admissions committees will as well) is why you feel you need an MBA to become a leader in the healthcare product innovation space – what type of role are you seeking, is it product management? If so, make this clear, chartering a path to this role by highlighting your transferrable skills from product engineering, explaining what skills you need from an MBA to succeed in such a role, and describing the type of impact you wish to make.
Your profile certainly puts you in contention for top MBA programs – however, since GSB and HBS are extremely competitive for everyone (and can be unpredictable sometimes regarding admissions decisions) I do encourage you to expand your list. A few other schools I’d consider, due to their strengths in healthcare and technology: Wharton, Kellogg, and Michigan Ross (which has a new healthcare scholarship known as the Pinkert Scholars Program). Hope that helps a bit – very best of luck!
