After joining a boutique strategy consulting firm as a Senior Associate was tasked with starting its financial advisory arm. Started the financial advisory division from scratch and sourced and completed M&A and ECM transactions amounting to INR 1.73 billion. At the end was promoted as a partner and retain 17% in the financial advisory division.
A shift from Boutique Consulting, which restricts my area of practice within financial advisory, to Strategy Consulting.

Hi, this is Deepak Punwani from MBA Exchange. You have a good profile for UK based schools – am guessing you are targeting schools in that geography. The international nature of your education, very solid GPA, higher than average GMAT for UK / European schools – all bode well. Your work experience across London and Mumbai and now graduating to getting a stake in business will all make you stand out from the competitive Indian applicant pool. Would encourage you to think deeply about your goals and why is consulting meaningful to you. Would also encourage you to think about all that you are passionate outside of work and how your extra curricular activities add to your profile. My last point relates to your …

Would also encourage you to think about all that you are passionate outside of work and how your extra curricular activities add to your profile. My last point relates to your choice of school. Both Cambridge and LBS grads recruit into consulting with a higher percentage than Said. So if consulting is where you want to be post MBA, why is Said top of your list ? Just curious. Good luck.
Hi, it’s Nisha from mbaMission! It sounds like you’ve had a very progressive career so far in financial advisory – starting a financial advisory divison from scratch and becoming partner is very impressive, so congratulations on that accomplishment! It sounds like you’ll have strong recommendations that attest to your performance, potential, and growth vs. peers based on your trajectory.
For Said, your academics are pretty solid – the field is always extra-competitive for Indian applicants, so I’m glad your GMAT score is about 30 points over the average. I see that you were heavily involved in extracurriculars in Hult – are you involved in anything post-MBA? That would strengthen your profile further, and make you competitive for additional schools in Europe (LBS, Cambridge, INSEAD). …

Mr. Strategy Consulting Future – Thanks for posting your profile. Susan Cera here from Stratus. Your solid stats and consulting experience should position you well at top UK MBA programs. I’m curious as to why Said as opposed to other schools. In my experience, Oxford leands towards students who are passionate about global social impact. Your direction seems a bit more commercial which is why I’m noting your odds of acceptance a bit lower. I encourage you to expand your target list and make sure you have clear goals that will enable you to answer why MBA? why now? and why at this program. All the best.
