My rating puts you at 3.5x more likely to gain admission than most – So, I hope you instead find this encouraging! Your global experience is solid and demonstrates likely cross-cultural understanding, your goals are logical given your past, and your numerical credentials are quite competitive. There are two key areas regarding your candidacy that are on my mind. First, AdCom wants to see that you care about making an impact on the community – this will give them confidence that you will make meaningful contributions to the betterment of their program and be an active member of society post-MBA. I am curious if your probono work is an expectation through your employer or something that you proactively sought out beyond work. The latter is obviously far more impactful. Secondly, deep self-awareness and thoughtful storytelling is critical for admission to GSB. The story must weave throughout every piece of your application (essays, short answers, LOR, interview, etc) to paint a holistic, congruent picture of Ms. Emerging Markets Healthcare. And, this takes a lot of diligent focus and your own “board of directors” to do this right. I recommend that you have three key people closely involved in your admissions campaign (beyond your recommenders): Someone who knows the school/the admissions process, someone who knows English grammar, and someone who knows YOU!
