Hi Ms. Equity to Venture! You are clearly a very passionate person and I LOVE IT! There’s a lot of good in your profile: Clear success handling funds to date with a strong return, commitment to supporting others’ development through your NGO work, clearly dedicated to your own development through your CFA, AND an athlete! However, I am afraid that your GRE score and GPA that fall well below the averages for your target schools may overshadow these strengths in your profile. While we can’t do anything about your undergrad GPA, we can do something about your standardized test score…. even if you have studied hard and/or plateaued in your score. My advice: find a 1:1 test prep/test anxiety tutor who can leverage meaningful diagnostics and individualized strategies to get you the best ROI on your investment – both time and money. There is a false sentiment out there that if the traditional test prep paths aren’t getting candidates results that they just aren’t cut out for a higher score. However, you are an individual, with individual ways of learning… and that requires an individualized test prep plan. Trust me, your time will be well spent if you are set on Stern or LBS! It’s worth revisiting the drawing board on this one!
