– Served in the Afghan refugee crisis as second in command of a unit consisting of 700 soldiers, responsible for designing and executing Operation Allied Support: the reception and transition of 10,000 Afghan refugees who assisted the U.S. in the war against the Taliban. – Graduate of U.S. Army Ranger School, considered to be one of the most difficult leadership schools in the military, of which only 1% of the Army obtains.
I aim to develop the business and marketing foundation required to gain a foothold in the fledging and promising industry of Psychedelic Therapy. Through my experiences in the Army, I have seen how the military falls far short of treating soldiers suffering from depression – a shortcoming that I intend to mend.

Hi Mr. Psychedelic Therapy for Veterans! First, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your service. You are clearly very accomplished in your military background. I truly find there are very few pre-MBA experiences that equip one with better leadership skills than that of the military. The key is to communicate those experiences in a way that demonstrates that you know how to apply those skills in a business setting – this is something that takes some real art!

Please don’t be thrown my 15% rating here, as this is a reflection of your candidacy as you’ve currently presented it, as there is much you can do to boost it. I imply that you don’t feel confident in your ability to get that standardized test score up, although I do encourage you to consider a diagnostic 1:1 tutor if you haven’t already, as they can often drive miraculous turn-around for someone who has been using the more traditional prep courses/books. I am also wondering about your length of employment of under 6 years at your age of 30. What you did that entire time post high school will be important to AdCom, so if you have a few “gap years” in there, we’ll have to get strategic on how to craft that story in a way that gives confidence in your accountability going forward. Lastly, I suggest that you get crystal clear on your goals. Given how you’ve written then, I went on a fierce google search to understand if I have been living under a rock and the psychedelic therapy industry requires an MBA – However, that search came up dry, so I presume not. What I think you mean is that you aspire to drive awareness and acceptance of the industry as a therapeutic medium for veterans and you feel that you need the marketing/general management skills necessary to help propel the industry forward to do that. The latter (or something to that tune) makes it much more clear how an MBA will help you to achieve your goal. I also encourage you to think both about your short and long term goal. Sometimes it is worthwhile to spend a few years post-MBA to arm yourself with a robust toolkit necessary to drive the real change you aspire in the long term. Keep plugging away and you’ll get those 15% odds up… but don’t wait too long if that standard two-year MBA is on your radar. I’d shoot for R2 2022 if you can!
