Hi Ms. Eternal Optimism, this is Kristen from MBA Prep School. It looks like your positive attitude has sure helped you go far in your life! I am equally optimistic about your odds of admission to your top target MBA programs! From a pure demographic background, you are a female minority who has worked in a male-dominated industry where you are in a leadership role. That in and of itself makes you stand out! Add to that your PERFECT GPA in MechE at Kings College, a solid 720 GMAT (a little below the average at H/S/W but not much), career progression at some of the top energy companies in the world, and an impressive track record of giving back to your community, and I’m sure …
Add to that your PERFECT GPA in MechE at Kings College, a solid 720 GMAT (a little below the average at H/S/W but not much), career progression at some of the top energy companies in the world, and an impressive track record of giving back to your community, and I’m sure you will have offers to choose from. You will want to be sure to focus your “big life wins” on professional rather than academic accomplishments given the amount of work experience you have. In fact, that is the one piece of your candidacy that would ordinarily concern me; you have twice the number of years of work experience than the typical MBA admit. Given your career goal is to pivot into finance, I can see why an MBA is necessary at this point and I think you can make a strong case for why you should be entering a full-time program rather than an EMBA. As a former MIT Sloan adcom, I feel like they would be crazy to turn you down! Please feel free to reach out if you would like to schedule a complimentary consultation or need help assembling the pieces of your story in a cohesive way!
Great profile. I would say if there is an opportunity to bump up the GMAT do it to increase chances of funding opportunities.
