The online MBA from Seattle University is designed for those looking for a flexible degree with a small class size, individualized attention, and a manageable workload. The MBA program began in 1967 and earned AACSB accreditation in 1980. Students can complete the program in as few as 2.5 years – the equivalent of 10 quarters or 54 credits.
The curriculum is designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of relevant business challenges across functions and departments. The program challenges OMBAs to apply their knowledge and skills as they develop an understanding of all areas of business including operation, including marketing, finance, risk management, international business, and negotiations.
The program deviates from its online format right at the start, once and only once during the program’s staple residency retreat – a time to connect with the cohort and faculty through an in-person retreat held in forests outside Seattle. This significant weekend is a time for students to meet, bond, and network through both scheduled and spontaneous activities.
“The residency was amazing, and I think a key part of why I am enjoying the online program so much. It allowed us to come together as a group to have a shared experience and learn from each other. My cohort has really shown me different ways to approach projects and find solutions,” says OMBA Mariel D. on Seattle U’s site.

Each course in the Online MBA program features a leadership challenge, an assignment designed to help students develop the problem-solving mindset required to lead effectively. Although taught online, OMBA students still have access to campus resources such as a personal student success coordinator to help them navigate the program and succeed. Post-OMBA, over 70% of students go on to work for in-state companies.
