The F.W. Olin MBA: What You Need To Know
The F.W. Olin Graduate School at Babson College is known for its entrepreneurial drive and consistent ranking as the #1 MBA program for entrepreneurship in, U.S. News & World Report. Their faculty of experienced entrepreneurs, executives, researchers, and scholars, teach across programs in Wellesley, Boston, and Miami. Babson’s full-time MBA program offers 12- and 21- month options. Either option requires 45 credits, 15 of which are earned through the Core. The other 30 credits can be used to explore personal and professional interests. So what’s the difference? Babson’s one year program requires students to take electives over the course of two-and-a-half semesters, whereas their two-year program over five. During summer students taking the two-year program are offered added benefits such as the opportunity to land internships, take more classes, or participate in Babson’s startup accelerators.
In both MBA programs, the core of what Babson has to offer as a major entrepreneurial school is embedded into its core courses. The Babson Consulting Alliance Program is a 14-week project where teams of students work in collaboration with an organization to “analyze real-time organizational opportunity and create value-added solutions.” This core, paired with other core courses focused on opportunity and design, and innovation and growth, prepares students with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as the tools for success.
