The Fox MBA: What You Need To Know

Since 1964, Temple University’s Fox School of Business has been offering an immersive MBA program with solid professional development resources and a close-knit community that allows students to reach their personal and professional goals in the bustling city of Philadelphia.

Philadelphia nicknamed the “City of Brotherly Love,” is a UNESCO World Heritage City and home to hundreds of world-renowned museums and cultural centers. Centrally located in the east between New York City and Washington D.C., it delivers the benefits of both city life and affordable living, plus diverse industry representation from some of the most noteworthy organizations in the country such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Campbell’s, Cigna, Comcast, Deloitte, FMC, GlaxoSmithKline, Independence Blue Cross, KPMG, SEI, Sunoco, and Vanguard.

On the main campus, Alter Hall is home to the Fox School of Business, and its more than $80 million state of the art facility – with more than enough resources for their small cohorts – welcomed a cohort of just 27 students this year. The 2-year program runs 48 credit hours, and along with typical application materials, prospective students are interviewed by an admissions officer to assess if they are the right fit for the program.

The Fox Full-Time MBA offers a choice of concentrations and the curriculum is highly project-based, with plenty of real-world experiential learning opportunities and optional graduate immersions delivered by internationally recognized faculty and executives.

Global Immersions are optional and offered in fall, spring, and summer semesters and as one can expect, in person. Although uniquely, Fox MBAs can attend “Fox without Borders”, a virtual immersion program where students virtually explore a destination and connect with executives from international companies, gain insight into the business environment and earn a non-credit certificate upon completion. This is an exceptional option for those who continue to practice social distancing or aren’t yet comfortable with traveling.

For the Class of 2023, it was announced that internships were not required however for the Class of 2024 and moving forward, Fox will require students to participate in an internship, which typically takes place during summer between year 1 and 2 of the program.

“Beyond the classroom experience, the program offers first-rate experiential learning and hands-on professional development opportunities. The environment is collaborative, engaging, and welcoming to students, faculty, and alumni from all walks of life. The students are well-prepared to succeed in the business world and to make value-adding differences at their companies,” says Dean Ronald Anderson.
