Credentials: Professor Rangel is the Bing Professor of Neuroscience, Behavioral Biology and Economics at Caltech, where he focuses on the neural basis of economic decision-making. He owns a Ph.D. from Harvard. Clegg is a third year Ph.D. student at Caltech.

Graded: Students who complete all activities will receive a personalized certificate. However, students also have the option to audit the course and have access to the online discussion boards, along with all course material and tests.

Description: Designed for both MBAs and undergraduates, this course examines basic economic principles using a quantitative and model-based approach. In particular, it focuses heavily on mathematically-driven methods, logic, and applications of economic theory. For example, the course emphasizes how to model market interactions to predict outcomes in areas like taxes and regulation and introducing disruptive market solutions. The course will be driven by videos, lectures and readings.
