As the Class of 2015 begins to make its way in the world, it’s a good time to recall those precious moments on campus confronting challenges, big and small, with newfound friends. The Harvard Business School just put up a video of students who will be graduating from its MBA program in little more than two weeks. Though the feel-good clip is HBS-centric, it’s also representative of what MBA students are feeling everywhere, no matter what school or program they are graduating from. The video captures the sentiments of many who frankly wish those two years hadn’t slipped by as fast and furious as they did. At first, students are asked where they are from and then asked about their initial impressions of the school, their favorite memories of the MBA experience, how the program changed their perspectives on the world and themselves, what they will most miss once they leave, one word that best describes the two years, and their personal wishes for their classmates. What will they miss most? Everything from a jammed social calendar to “tapping into people’s humanity.” “I will miss the people the most. They one of the most passionate, interesting and stimulating folks i have ever been around, responds one student. Another, in his Australian accent, says he will miss “the banter, the strange accents, the interesting conversations, the late nights spent together.” Indeed.
