Recalling your own experience, what advice do you have for applicants who are preparing for either the GMAT or the GRE? Start the preparation as early as you can; start by focusing on the OG and improve upon your weak areas afterwards by practicing as many questions as possible. The GMAT is a computer-adaptive test, so make sure to be comfortable answering questions on a computer screen. Time management is extremely important during the test; take a few days off before the test day to get yourself emotionally and physically ready.

Based on your own selection process, what advice do you have for applicants who are trying to draw up a list of target schools to which to apply? First of all, the schools you are applying for have the resources that you are looking to leverage both during and after your MBA. Secondly, keep in mind that when choosing the school, you are also choosing the city where it is located. Lastly, If permits, I would really suggest paying a visit to the target schools before applying. In this way, you will get a chance to speak to the admission officers and current students in person and know what it’s like studying there.

What advice do you have for applicants in actually applying to a school, writing essays, doing admission interviews, and getting recommenders to write letters on your behalf? Take some time to think retrospectively in your life. Think about your strengths and weaknesses and how to use them positively in your application. Know clearly why you want to pursue an MBA; make sure others around you, especially your recommenders, support your decision of applying for an MBA.

What led you to choose this program for your full-time MBA? For me, the decision was simple. I wanted an MBA in China, where I will have my future career. CEIBS is the best b-school in China and in Asia. And my experience and background fit most with what CEIBS is looking for.

What would you ultimately like to achieve before you graduate? I would like to find business partners and start a venture together.
