Time to Reorganize! Understand Organizations, Act, and Build a Meaningful World

School: HEC Paris

Platform: Coursera

Registration Link: CLICK HERE

Start Date: February 6, 2017 (7 Weeks Long)

Workload: Not Specified

Instructor: Rodolphe Durand

Credentials: Durand is the chair of the strategy department at HEC Paris, where we also oversees the MBA and Ph.D. specializations. An accomplished researcher and scholar, Durand’s work has been published by the Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal and the American Journal of Sociology. IN addition, he has authored several books, including Organizational Evolution and Strategic Management and Organizations, Strategy, and Society. In addition to being the recipient of several awards, he has also served as a visiting professor at several leading business schools, including the London Business School, New York University (Stern), and the Harvard Business School.

Graded: Students will earn a signed certificate from the instructor for successfully passing the final exam. To earn a certification with distinction, participants must also complete an essay related to the course content.

Description: This course provides a 30,000 foot overview of the nature and development of organizations. In particular, students will examine how organizations relate to their members, customers, and society at large – and vice versa. It will also cover how markets and competition impact organizations – and what defines success and (ultimately) longevity. Over the first month, students will learn through watching videos, which will be reinforced through short quizzes. In the final two weeks, students will complete a final project followed by a mandatory 50-question test. Rodolphe will be available to assist students through an online forum and live video sessions offered in weeks three and five.

Review: No reviews.
