DON’T MISS TRUMP COULD IMPACT INFLUX OF STUDENT TALENT and AFTER BREXIT, HEC PARIS EYES BIGGER GLOBAL ROLE

there are 52 muslim countries, the “temporary” ban is on 7 countries ONLY, with very obvious reason that is weak security and vetting systems in these particular 7 countries. These 7 countries were listed during the previous administration! Now, tell who did you come to the conclusion that it is a religious ban?!! I am a muslim and completely understand this ban, and it is suspended now, and it is essentially temporary.

  • somsquared

Snowflake reasoning. There is not “religion ban”– give me a break. Correlation doesn’t prove causation. Sure though, go ahead and continue to make assumptions.

  • GMATninja

You have got to be kidding me.
That is probably the most absurd and idiotic reasoning I have ever heard with respect to this issue.
    Trump effect isn’t glorified.
Cananda’s Rotman this year saw 26 freaking percent growth in its applicants.
And except M7 (and a few elites) => Every B school in the US has seen the number of applications plummet.

Its clear -> With the recent hatred that has been spread worldwide due to the excessive degrading policies of the TRUMP administration, people are worried.
And honestly, being a future applicant I would be only applying to schools outside the US unless TRUMP chances his stance on banning a particular religion and stops spreading hatred.

MBA aside, we are all human beings first.

    Have a great day 🙂

sorry add Duke to the bracket.

any M7 school is >> HEC.
any of (Tuck, Haas, Yale, UCLA, Michigan, NYU, and Darden) = HEC
any 15th and lower < HEC
any 25th and lower <<< HEC

    This is my opinion

What do you think of HEC Paris MBA compared to US top 20 school? I have an offer from HEC and other from Cornell, but I feel HEC is more international, diverse, and gaining momentum, and also a quality education. and of course, much affordable. My goal is to work in technology or Industry in Asia or Middle East. any input is highly appreciated.

  • somsquared

It’s obvious– I shouldn’t have to explain it.

The main differences between American schools and european ones is that european schools are very international, they serve the global marketplace, not the region they are physically located. IE, INSEAD, IESE, and HEC, are all in struggling economies, but they did great job in placing their grads very good jobs. HEC has 92% international students body..

  • Brian

Meanwhile France’s economy is all but flat. ?

  • Brian

US students stand to gain…or the international students who realize their chances of being admitted just went UP – not down.

  • BHajhi

Can you explain more how the so called “Trump Effect” drive people to do GRE instead of GMAT? Or What is the connection between Trump Effect and GMAC losing applicants !!?

  • somsquared

The GMAC is an unethical organization to begin with. They take home fat salaries with no accountability because there will always be a boatload of applicants who will take the GMAT for bschool. The GMAC can’t even manage to get Pearson to administer the tests properly without having mishandling of testing procedure.

The “Trump Effect” is an overglorified excuse as more applicants continue the move towards the GRE. It’s nice to see that more applicants are understanding the appeal of the GRE.

Last week, HEC Paris closed its admission for the Sep 2017, due to high demand and new record for GMAT, reason? is most likely the rejection of populism by Europeans. The reports say that the increase on application for HEC Paris MBA was more than 30 % in the last two weeks with GMAT avg over 710! This is strong indication on where the business education is heading..
