Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: Being the personal assistant for the 4x NBA All-Star and 3x NBA Champion, Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors.

What quality best describes the MBA classmates you’ve met so far and why? Personable and sincere. Everyone that I met was very engaging and outgoing as well as truly interested in who you are and what you had to say.                                                                                                

Aside from your classmates, what was the key The prestige of Rice University was what led me to this program. Being born and raised in the Bay Area, Stanford is in the upper echelon of higher education and when I heard Rice described as “the Stanford of the South” and as a “Southern Ivy” I knew at that very moment I wanted to go to Rice.

What club or activity are you looking most forward to in business school? Finance Club & Consulting Club.

What led you to pursue an MBA at this point in your career? I have chosen to be in a very competitive and rigorous profession that requires an MBA as well as other professional certifications.

How did you decide if an MBA was worth the investment? The additional knowledge and the networking opportunities would increase my respect in my industry while giving me the intellectual tools to advance in my career.

What other MBA programs did you apply to? Rice was my dream school and the only MBA program that I applied to.

How did you determine your fit at various schools? The factors that I prioritized were alumni network, class sizes, and the diverse backgrounds of current students/alumni. I looked at the top business school rankings across multiple publications and narrowed it down from there. I researched the culture at Rice by actually going there multiple times to get a feel for the city of Houston, the campus, and talking to multiple individuals ranging from current students and alumni to the admissions office and faculty. I saw having an MBA would fit my career goals because I see that having the prestigious name of Rice University and the Jones Graduate School of Business as well as their respective reputations supporting me now and throughout my career.

What was your defining moment and how did it shape who you are? My defining moment up until this point in my life was reading Moneyball at eight years old. This is when I realized that I could combine my love of sports and finance into a career. Ever since then, I have been on a path to reach my dream of being a sports agent.

What do you plan to do after you graduate? My dream is to be a sports agent or a financial advisor for high net worth individuals and professional athletes.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Successfully managing my clients’ careers in the sports world and optimizing their net worth.
