Average GMAT Scores At The Top 50 B-Schools

More and more students are opting for the Graduate Record Exam over the Graduate Management Admission Test, though some top schools have seen their proportion of GRE test score submitters drop.

Meanwhile, according to a recent Poets&Quants analysis of leading business schools, the number of MBA candidates who submit GRE scores is steadily rising. In 2015, eight schools admitted 20% or more of their students this way; in 2017, that number ballooned to 22 schools. In 2016, 12 schools showed a negative year-over-year trend in GRE admits; the next year, that number shrank to seven. Nine schools saw double-digit increases in GRE admits over three years between 2015 and 2017; in 2018, five schools reported that the percentage of applicants submitting GRE scores had risen to at least 40%, with Washington Olin leading the way at 50% and Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business close behind at 47%.
