At HBS in 2019, 16% reported guaranteed other compensation (down from 18% last year and 34% in 2014), at a median of $5,000 (up from $4,500 last year and $2,500). At Wharton, in 2018, 7% of MBA interns gained sign-on bonuses (down from 8% in 2014) that ranged from a median high of $7,500 to a low of $2,500; last year the school opted to omit bonus data for interns from its employment report. Likewise Chicago Booth, where, in 2018, 13% of students who did internships in the consulting function received median sign-on bonuses of $2,500; that was up 1% from five years earlier, but the bonus amount was identical.
