The U.S. B-Schools With The Most Indian & Chinese Students

Chinese populations at U.S. B-schools have been declining for years. At the top 30 U.S. B-schools as ranked by U.S. News, only four report larger Chinese student enrollment than that of their Indian colleagues.

In terms of MBA programs, the highest percentage of internationals was reported at MIT Sloan School of Management, at 37.8%, while the lowest was reported at Florida Warrington College of Business at 11.4%. It’s important to note that U.S. News‘ data is across two years, encompassing both currently enrolled classes, which explains why the numbers look a little low — because the fall 2020 numbers were so low amid the worst of coronavirus. For example, Wharton enrolled just 19% international students in its MBA program in fall 2020, but brought that number up to 36% last fall. Texas McCombs went from 15.1% to 24%; Michigan Ross from 22.7% to 28%; Vanderbilt Owen from 10.3% to 25%; and Rice Jones from 20.3% to 39%. See our story on international MBA enrollment here.
