What achievement are you most proud of in your professional career? I was the first female to hold the position of Biomedical Engineering Maintenance Director at the Jazan Health Cluster. While I am incredibly proud of this accomplishment, my most significant achievement lies in developing a cost-effective equipment transition strategy. This program bridges the gap between equipment lifecycles and uninterrupted patient care delivery. My background in both medical furnishing and maintenance proved invaluable. In furnishing, I focused on aesthetics and initial acquisition costs. Transitioning to maintenance, I delved into equipment performance, preventative measures, and the challenges associated with equipment lifecycles. This unique perspective allowed me to identify a critical gap – the lack of a seamless equipment replacement process.

Why did you choose this school’s online MBA program? JWMI’s online MBA program emerged as the perfect fit for my career aspirations. The program’s focus on healthcare administration, coupled with its strong reputation for developing effective leadership skills, directly aligned with my desire to become a more impactful leader in biomedical engineering.

What was your favorite part of being in an online MBA program? Despite the virtual setting, I formed strong bonds with my classmates through online discussions and collaborative projects. The program fostered a supportive and engaged learning community.

How did your online experience compare with your in-the-classroom experience as an undergraduate student? The online MBA program offered a more self-directed learning approach compared to my undergraduate experience. This required strong time management skills and active participation in discussions. However, the flexibility allowed me to tailor my learning to my busy schedule.

What is your best piece of advice to an applicant for thriving in an online MBA program? Time management is crucial for success in any online program. Therefore, it is important to develop a study schedule that fits your work commitments and stick to it. Additionally, actively participate in online discussions, and do not hesitate to reach out to classmates and professors for support. Building strong connections within the online learning community is invaluable!

How has your online education helped you in your current job? My online education has equipped me with a valuable skillset that has significantly enhanced my performance in my current role and has made me a more well-rounded leader. This has enabled me to contribute more effectively to the Jazan Health Cluster’s mission of providing high-quality healthcare.

Did you earn a promotion while in the program or immediately after graduation? I was recently promoted to Biomedical Engineering Maintenance Director at the Jazan Health Cluster. This role allows me to leverage my technical expertise in biomedical engineering with leadership and strategic planning skills.

Why did you pursue an online MBA program instead of a full-time residential program? As a leader at a healthcare organization, I knew I needed to further develop my leadership skills to make an even greater impact. JWMI’s online MBA program was the perfect solution. The flexibility allowed me to keep working full-time and manage my team, while still pursuing my academic goals. More importantly, the program’s focus on healthcare administration directly aligned with my aspirations to become a more effective leader in the field of biomedical engineering.

Number of Hours Per Week Spent on an Online MBA: My average weekly workload for two courses varied between 12 and 26 hours, depending on the course content and assignment complexity.

What is your ultimate long-term professional goal? My ultimate ambition transcends the Jazan Health Cluster and stretches towards shaping the future of healthcare technology across Saudi Arabia. By leveraging my technical expertise in biomedical engineering, honed through my undergraduate degree, and the strategic and leadership skills gained from the online MBA program, I aim to become a leading figure in healthcare technology implementation and management within the Kingdom. I envision myself working with various healthcare institutions to ensure the efficient adoption and optimal utilization of advanced medical technologies. This will ultimately improve patient care outcomes and extend the lifespan and effectiveness of medical equipment, maximizing its positive impact on the healthcare system.
