IIM Bangalore (IIM B) stands out with its strong and relevant academic curriculum, focusing on key areas like entrepreneurship, technology, and finance. The NSRCEL incubation center provides robust support for budding entrepreneurs, while elective courses in cutting-edge technologies keep students abreast of industry trends. What has been your favorite course or extracurricular activity at IIM Bangalore? What has been the most important lesson that you have learned from it? One of my favorite courses to date has been Designing Organizations taught by Professor Abhay K. Ojha. It has been an enlightening experience to realize that beyond the immediate tasks, understanding the broader perspective holds immense value. Professor Ojha emphasizes the importance of not only being politically aware of current events, but also maintaining a strong sense of personal integrity in all endeavors. These lessons have deeply resonated with me and will undoubtedly influence my professional journey, guiding me to make informed decisions and uphold ethical standards in every aspect of my career. What makes Bengaluru such as great place to earn your MBA? Bengaluru, often referred to as India’s Silicon Valley, presents a wealth of opportunities for MBA students, both professionally and personally. The city is a thriving hub for tech giants and startups, offering unparalleled prospects in technology and entrepreneurship. Moreover, with numerous multinational corporations and industry leaders headquartered here, MBA students benefit from extensive opportunities for internships, projects, and placements, fostering invaluable industry exposure and networking. The cosmopolitan nature of Bengaluru attracts a diverse student community, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the exchange of ideas and perspectives within and beyond classroom settings. This unique blend of innovation, corporate presence, and cultural diversity makes Bengaluru an exceptional choice for pursuing an MBA. Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: One of my most significant achievements was receiving grants of #3 USPTO patents. These patents aim to alleviate some of the challenges that are encountered while installing and operating HVAC equipment. These innovations use historical data analysis and algorithms to help building operators reduce operational cost while ensuring appropriate comfort for their residents. Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far: One of the most rewarding achievements during my MBA journey has been serving as a member of the academic committee, representing my cohort at IIM Bangalore’s Executive Post Graduate Program. Balancing rigorous academic curriculum and industry-relevant projects can be challenging for seasoned professionals. I take immense pride and have found great satisfaction in supporting my peers with their academic requirements and fostering collective growth. What is your class’s favorite hangout away from school? Why do you gather there? One of the batch’s beloved hangout spots is Mykos restaurant and pub, conveniently located just opposite the campus. On Fridays, students often gather there to unwind from their hectic schedules, savoring delicious dishes and cooling off with a chilled beverage. What do you hope to do after graduation? In the near future, my goal is to join a leading product company where I can apply my diverse experience to innovate intuitive solutions that address real-world challenges. Looking ahead, I aspire to establish my own venture focused on creating simple, user-friendly, and cost-effective solutions that positively impact people’s lives. What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into IIM Bangalore? While a competitive GMAT score is a key factor, gaining admission to the IIM Bangalore EPGP program requires more than just academic achievement. Prospective applicants must meticulously prepare their applications to showcase their unique strengths and potential to the admissions committee.
