The standout feature of Simon’s curriculum that drew me to this business school was the STEM MBA program paired with a marketing specialization. I valued the flexibility to select a focused track while integrating a robust analytical component. This combination allowed me to enhance my marketing track with a data-driven approach, providing me with the tools to excel in both strategic and analytical aspects of my career. This unique blend aligns perfectly with my goal of combining creativity with rigorous analysis. Rochester Simon is known for being “unabashedly analytical.” Why does the program’s focus on quantitative analysis and decision-making appeal to you? How do you intend to leverage this approach as a student and professional? I’m excited about the program’s focus on quantitative analysis and decision-making because it will help me become a more effective leader. By mastering data-driven decision tools, I’ll be better equipped to make thoughtful and informed choices. I aim to blend these technical skills with my soft skills to grow into a supportive and insightful leader within any organization where I am a part. What are some advantages you’ve seen in earning your MBA in Rochester? Earning my MBA in Rochester has offered several advantages. I’ve been able to not only deepen my analytical skills, but also connect with a diverse cohort. The smaller class size at Simon made this possible, allowing me to build close relationships with classmates from various backgrounds. For me, this has been an enriching experience, since engaging with different perspectives has broadened my own and enhanced my time in Rochester. What course, club or activity excites you the most at Simon? I’m looking forward to joining the Simon Marketing Association, and the Simon Volunteers Club. Through the Marketing Association, I aim to refine my marketing skills as I transition into this new career path. With Simon Volunteers, I seek to give back to this new community I’m now part of. Volunteering has always been close to my heart, and I was inspired by Simon’s commitment to spreading kindness and supporting the community. Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: My biggest accomplishment so far has been my undergraduate thesis, where I analyzed the price elasticity of three goods during the pandemic and used the information to recommend a new promotional strategy for them. It was incredibly rewarding to blend my analytical, sales, and programming skills to craft a sustainable business strategy for my client. I also felt proud to share my findings with my team, which later helped them make better business decisions with their clients. I’m excited to continue merging my economics background with my passion for finding effective and creative business solutions. What do you hope to do after graduation (at this point)? After graduation, I hope to break into the beauty and fashion industry as a brand manager. I’m excited to dive deep into consumer trends and use those insights, along with my minor in strategy, to create innovative products that truly meet the needs and desires of customers.
