Undergraduate School and Major: University of Nairobi; Bachelor of Economics and Statistics Most Recent Employer and Job Title: Sterling Real Estate Advisory, Chief Executive Officer What makes London such a great place to earn an MBA degree? London is a great place to earn an MBA because of how diverse the city is. It provides magnificent exposure to various ways of life and cultures, allowing one to create a global mindset – something which I consider to be essential for a successful career in business. In addition, it is an international finance hub and business center, which offers extensive networking opportunities and platforms with the various international companies with operations in the city. London Business School is one of the most culturally and professionally diverse MBA programs in the world. How do you see these global perspectives enhancing the value of your business education over the next two years? London Business School‘s focus on providing global perspectives will enhance my business education by exposing me to diverse viewpoints. Learning from peers and faculty with different professional and cultural backgrounds will give me a fresh perspective. This will prepare me to navigate and lead in the global business landscape, as well as allow me to broaden my network and develop a more inclusive and innovative approach to problem-solving over the next two years. Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of London Business School’s MBA curriculum and programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? One of the biggest draws is the flexibility afforded by the curriculum. The ability to decide when to do the courses and in what format will allow me to balance the coursework, the demands of an involved student life and personal commitments. This will allow me to take full advantage of the opportunities available to enhance my experience in school. For example, I hope to take on an in-semester internship during my second year by switching to evening courses and block weeks for some of the electives. What course, club or activity excites you the most at London Business School? As someone who really loves to travel and explore, I am most excited about the opportunity to discover amazing destinations through MBA Treks with my fellow classmates. I cannot wait to immerse myself in different cultures and explore the histories of the globe while creating unforgettable experiences with my class. Snow trek and Japan trek, here I come! Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: One of my most significant career achievements was establishing and leading a startup in my previous role. The organization, Sterling Real Estate Advisory, is a REIT management company based in Kenya that provides asset management services to investors interested in securitizing their real estate through Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). In 2021, we embarked on our first project, and at that time, I was the sole team member. Fresh from completing my CFA, I was eager for a challenge. When the opportunity to head the company arose, I was excited by the chance to build something meaningful and make a lasting impact on Kenya’s REIT sector and capital markets. I was responsible for key initiatives, including recruiting the team, securing fundraising from shareholders, and landing our first client. This experience significantly enhanced my leadership abilities and deepened my understanding of effective teamwork. What is your unique quality that will enable you to make a big contribution to the Class of 2026? My unique quality is my ability to discern what other people are feeling which helped me to foster a strong and collaborative team in my previous role. This will enable me to add value to the class by facilitating meaningful interactions that promote inclusivity and will enhance the overall learning experience for my classmates. What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into London Business School’s MBA program? I would recommend that potential applicants network with current students, alumni, and the admissions committee through online sessions. This will help them get acquainted with the school and its program so they can check their career goals align with what the program offers. DON’T MISS: MEET LONDON BUSINESS SCHOOL’S MBA CLASS OF 2026
