What has made it such a great place to earn an MBA? I love how Atlanta feels like a vibrant patchwork of different cultures and traditions all woven together. It’s so easy to lose track of time exploring bustling food markets and stumbling into a spontaneous art show in the same afternoon. I’m amazed by how everyone here seems to celebrate all the layers of who they are. Whether they’re hustling in the tech scene or sharing their culture through art and music. Every day, I’m reminded of how beautifully diverse this place is, from hip-hop music scene to the historical art events all thriving side by side. Atlanta shows me that we’re never just one story—and that’s what keeps it so special. Aside from your classmates and location, what was one key part of the Scheller MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? I chose Georgia Tech’s MBA program because it genuinely values entrepreneurial-minded professionals like me. I believe you can build a successful career while still pursuing passion projects that generate passive income, and Georgia Tech encourages exactly that. It’s incredibly inspiring that so many of the faculty here are not only professors but also founders, inventors, and overall trailblazers. Right now, I’m working alongside the School of Commercialization, consulting for some brilliant minds who are teaching us how to turn big ideas into real opportunities. The energy is absolutely unmatched—every day, I’m surrounded by people who share my drive for innovation and growth. What course, club or activity have you enjoyed the most so far at Georgia Tech? I’m proud to be the first-year rep for Blacks in Business, which is hands-down my favorite organization on campus. What really draws me in is how we’re all about uplifting underserved communities through collaboration and support. Membership isn’t just about networking; it’s about connecting with genuine people, sharing resources, and working together to make an impact. One of the highlights so far was heading to the National Black MBA Conference in Washington DC, where I met some truly brilliant professionals who are breaking barriers in their industries. That experience reminded me why I’m so passionate about this group—we’re building each other up and making real progress together. Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: One of my proudest milestones was launching my own hair-care line—an exhilarating, sometimes nerve-wracking journey that taught me a ton about entrepreneurship. When I moved to Atlanta, I shifted gears and started managing salon suites, which gave me an entirely new perspective on the beauty industry. Completing my Paul Mitchell hair license here was a major turning point, sharpening my skills and connecting me with a network of inspiring professionals. It’s incredibly fulfilling to support and watch talented stylists flourish in a creative, encouraging environment. Looking back, I’m really proud of how far I’ve come and can’t wait to see where this path takes me next. Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far: I’ve always seen myself as a leader at heart, but I didn’t fully have the confidence to own that role before my MBA journey. This program has given me the perfect environment to hone my leadership skills, learn from real-world scenarios, and embrace challenges I might’ve shied away from in the past. With each group project and every class discussion, I’ve gained a deeper belief in my ability to guide and inspire others. There’s something about the rigorous academics, the supportive community, and the constant push to excel that has really solidified my sense of self. Now, I feel more prepared than ever to step up, take charge, and lead with conviction—both in the classroom and beyond. What has been your best memory as an MBA so far? My best memory as an MBA candidate at Georgia Tech was orientation, where I got to meet so many brilliant and driven classmates. I began school right after losing my mother and grandmother, so being surrounded by a safe community was important for me. In the two weeks of orientation, we bonded from sunrise to sunset, forging friendships that feel like they’ll last a lifetime. Even now, I’m constantly amazed by the diversity in our class—looking around the room, I see people from all walks of life, each bringing a unique perspective to every conversation. There’s a special spark in each of us that makes our discussions richer and our community stronger. It’s a privilege to be surrounded by so many inspiring individuals who keep pushing me to grow and embrace every challenge ahead.
